Norwich have landed a £10m-plus player in loan signing Patrick Bamford, according to Alex Neil.

Chelsea's young striker will spend the rest of the season at Carrow Road after a season-long deal at Crystal Palace was cut short, and his debut could come against Tottenham on Tuesday night.

Bamford did not score a single goal for Palace but did net 17 times in 32 Championship starts for Middlesbrough last season.

And Norwich boss Neil said: "Obviously he did extremely well last season and won Championship Player of the Year. If we had tried to recruit him in the summer you would have been talking double figures, £10m-plus.

Alex Neill says he believes there won't be any more signings for Norwich in this transfer window but can't rule it out

"The fact we can get that calibre player in on a loan deal between now and the end of the season will hopefully increase our fire-power and give us a bit more competition."

Neil stopped short of guaranteeing Bamford games, saying: "He will come in and compete with Dieumerci Mbokani and Cameron Jerome.

"Then it will be up to him to show his qualities and hopefully stake his claim for a place in the team. It can only help us that we have more competition."

Neil strengthened his midfield options on Deadline Day by bringing in 20-year-old Ebou Adams from non-league Dartford.

"This is a dream come true for me, and I've worked hard to get here," Adams told Canaries Player. "I'd describe myself as a box-to-box midfielder because I like to get about the pitch.

"My game is about working hard, and that's what I need to do now to push on again."
