Manchester City have no interest in Benfica left-back Alex Grimaldo, according to Press Association Sport.
Reports from Portugal have claimed City boss Pep Guardiola and his brother Pere, a prominent football agent, attended Benfica's game against Braga on Monday to watch Grimaldo in action.
However, PA sources have indicated that Guardiola is not monitoring the player.
Grimaldo, who turned 21 on Tuesday, was a youngster under Guardiola at Barcelona and in 2011 became the youngest player ever to appear in a Spanish second division game when he featured for Barcelona B during their 4-0 win at Cartagena, at the age of 15.
Grimaldo joined Portuguese champions Benefica in January for €1.5m (£1.29m), signing a contract to keep him at the club until 2021.
The left-back, who has represented Spain up to U21 level, reportedly has a release clause of £51m.
