David Moyes wants agent fees to be published to show the truth behind player transfers.

Former Sunderland boss, Sam Allardyce, lost his job as England manager after just one game in charge, following the Daily Telegraph's investigation into alleged corruption in English football

Moyes replaced Allardyce at the Stadium of Light ahead of the start of the new Premier League campaign and while the former Manchester United boss distanced himself from deals involving third-party ownership, he believes there should be more transparency throughout the game, starting with agents brokering transfer deals.

"In my time, I've not seen much or any of it, probably," Moyes said. "I think it would be great if everything was more transparent in general. If you're a fan and your club signs a player you don't get to know what the agents fee is on the deal.

"If we published those then we might get a few shocks. Then maybe people could see that signing the player isn't the only cost. The football clubs would have to show how much they're giving individuals.

"No (it wouldn't be a very good thing for the agents) but it doesn't look like a very good thing for the managers or the coaches at the moment by some accounts. It's only my opinion. I think if we did that there would be a few more gasps."

Moyes admitted Allardyce has paid for his mistake and revealed he has been in contact with the former West Ham boss since his England departure.

"The most disappointing thing is that he had the job he really wanted, and so many people were pleased with him, because he'd worked his way up," Moyes added.

"To lose it in these circumstances, there'll be no one more disappointed that him. I sent him a message, just to say I was sorry. Sam knows more than anybody that if you make that mistake, you can be caught out."

Moyes is yet to win a Premier League game as Sunderland manager and his side will face Tony Pulis' West Brom on Saturday looking to move off the bottom of the table.

Sunderland will be without Adnan Januzaj for the tie, though, who has been ruled out for six weeks with an ankle injury.

"It's a blow because he did well and looked as if he was finding form," said Moyes. "He's a really creative player for us and we needed it. We've got a few injuries. Steven Pienaar pulled up with a hamstring injury this week. Lee Cattermole as well is out of tomorrow's game.

"Pienaar had played very well. I don't think it's too severe but he'll miss this game."
