Samir Carruthers has joined Sheffield United from MK Dons on a three-and-a-half-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

Carruthers missed the Dons' 0-0 draw with Chesterfield on Monday to finalise personal terms and undergo a medical at Bramall Lane.

The 23-year-old, whose contract at Stadium MK was due to expire in the summer, scored six goals in 137 games during two spells with the club.

The London-born player, who has been capped by the Republic of Ireland at U19 and U21 level, began his professional career with Aston Villa.

Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder said: "We have tracked and monitored Samir for some time and he is a player who can grow with us, we are delighted that the board have backed us with this level of investment.
