Shrewsbury have signed winger Alex Rodman on an 18-month contract.

The 29-year-old joins the League One strugglers on a free transfer after being released by Notts County, where he made 19 appearances in all competitions after joining last summer.

Rodman will join forces with former manager Paul Hurst once again, having first worked together at Grimsby during the 2013/2014 season in the Vanarama National League.

Hurst said of his new arrival: "I believe that we can get the best out of Alex. He's a winger and he can beat players.

"I would suggest that he is quicker than he looks because of how he glides, but he's got good ability, he can score goals and for me, he fits the bill."
