Bradford have signed winger Alex Gilliead on loan from Newcastle until the end of the season.

Gilliead, 20, who spent the first half of the season on loan at Luton, is expected to be included in Stuart McCall's squad for Saturday's game at Shrewsbury.

"Alex is someone we have been monitoring since the summer," McCall told Bradford's official website.

"He is strong and quick and has had two good loans under his belt at Carlisle and Luton.

"He is fresh and positive as a player, and hungry to succeed."
