Samir Nabi has penned a one-year deal to remain at Carlisle United.

The West Brom academy graduate left The Hawthorns last summer to play for Delhi Dynamos in the Indian Super League and joined Carlisle on a short-term-deal in March.

The 20-year-old only managed one appearance for the League Two outfit last season, coming off the bench in a 2-0 win at Yeovil in April.

But the midfielder has done enough to impress manager Keith Curle who is thrilled he will be able to call upon the youngster next season.

"Samir is an excellent technical player and we now need to school him in what he needs to do and where he needs to be when we are out of possession," Curle told Carlisle's official website.

"He needs to develop his own personality within the group and build on the good start he's had with us.

"He's had a fantastic grounding in the game and he's developed many good habits.
