Dundee defender Kostadin Gadzhalov has signed a one-year extension to his contract, while midfielder Lewis Spence has joined from Dunfermline.
Centre-back Gadzhalov has been at Dens Park since 2015 and featured 19 times for the club last season, scoring against Inverness Caledonian Thistle and St Johnstone.
The 27-year-old featured in two of Neil McCann's five matches in charge at the end of last season.
McCann has also brought a familiar face to Tayside, after Spence agreed to join the Dark Blues.
The manager knows Lewis from his time at Dunfermline, where the midfielder spent four years.
The 21-year-old spent two spells on loan with Brechin last season and has signed a one-year deal with the club.
"I've seen enough of Lewis in my time at Dunfermline that suggests I wanted to give him a chance here at Dundee," McCann told the club's official website.
"I want to work with him to try realise the potential that I saw in him.
"He knows he is going to have to work extremely hard to force his way into my first 11 but if you take our new vice-captain Cammy Kerr, for example, it shows how far you can go in a short space of time with drive and determination given the opportunity."
