Derby have had a £7m bid rejected for Leicester forward Tom Lawrence, according to Sky sources.

Rams boss Gary Rowett wants the 23-year-old to become his fourth summer signing and strengthen the team's forward options.

Lawrence spent last season on loan at Ipswich Town in the Sky Bet Championship, where he made 34 appearances and scored nine goals.

He has struggled to get into Leicester's first team since a 2014 move from Manchester United, also spending time on loan at Blackburn and Cardiff City.

Lawrence has not yet made a Premier League start for the Foxes, coming on just three times as a substitute. He has made only one start for the club in the FA Cup.

Lawrence is a product of Manchester United's academy and spent time on loan at Carlisle and Yeovil while on the books at Old Trafford.
