Dumbarton have signed defender Frazer Wright and striker Steven Ross.

The Championship side secured 36-year-old Wright following his release from St Johnstone on Tuesday, and former Ross County player Ross has put pen to paper until January 2016.

Wright is a centre-back and started his career at Stranraer before moving to Kilmarnock.

He signed for St Johnstone in 2011, made 108 appearances for the Perth club, and was part of the Scottish Cup-winning line-up in 2014.

Wright joined up with his new team-mates at the club's Glasgow training facility on Tuesday night.

"Frazer is someone we looked at when we first came in to the club and when the chance to get him after his St Johnstone release came we had to follow it up," manager Stevie Aitken told Dumbarton's official website.

"He'll give us options and I'm obviously happy to have his services."

Ross, who featured in 25 games for the Staggies, has been in demand from Highland League sides.

"Stevie has been on our radar for some time and we have now managed to get his deal over the line," Aitken added.

"He's a big lad and has pace, so we'll have further options up front. In training Tuesday night he looked sharp but not quite match fit, so we will be working on that."
