Carlisle midfielder Danny Kearns has had his contract with the club terminated by mutual consent.
Kearns, brought to Brunton Park by former manager Graham Kavanagh last summer, has barely featured under current boss Keith Curle and had not made a first-team appearance this season.
The 24-year-old's last outing came in the 3-1 defeat at Accrington in April.
Curle told the club's official website: "Danny is a great lad but he's probably one of the players who hasn't had as much opportunity to showcase himself as he would have wanted.
"He was really unlucky with injuries when I first got here but his attitude throughout has been excellent.
"He wants to be playing football and his opportunities were limited here. I think this suits all parties and it goes without saying we wish him well as he moves on from Carlisle United."
