The Tigers are now the only Premier League club not to have strengthened during the summer transfer window, with caretaker boss Mike Phelan in charge following the departure of Steve Bruce.

They will rely on the passionate support at the Kcom Stadium to help them try and inflict Leicester's first top-flight defeat since February, but the turmoil at the club offers the Foxes a golden opportunity to kick-start their title defence.

Will Tottenham spoil Ronald Koeman's welcoming party? (Everton v Tottenham - Saturday, 3pm)

Mauricio Pochettino is looking ahead to the start of the season

But in a game that is often used as a parameter for potential champions, they head to Goodison Park to take on Koeman's Toffees, who have endured a mixed bag of results in pre-season, culminating with a 1-0 home defeat to Espanyol.

They have, however, plugged the gap in the heart of their defence after the sale of John Stones to Manchester City by bringing in the experienced Ashley Williams from Swansea. It's a match that should tell us plenty about each side's prospects for the campaign ahead.

Can either new manager get off to a flyer? (Southampton v Watford - Saturday, 3pm)

With Koeman departed, Claude Puel has been tasked with keeping Southampton competitive in the top half, but how long will it take for his new side to gel?

The Europa League qualifiers have already lost a host of players and their manager during the summer transfer window, but can take comfort from the fact that's nothing new for a club used to transition.

Likewise Watford, who also have a new manager in former Inter Milan boss Walter Mazzarri. They head to St Mary's having settled for a 2-2 draw with Ligue 1 outfit FC Lorient in their final pre-season friendly.

Both sides have an impressive record when it comes to adjusting to new bosses, and they'll need to keep that up when kick-off rolls around.

Middlesbrough manager Aitor Karanka is confident his new signings will deliver.

Aitor Karanka inspired Boro to a second-placed finish last season and they will now be looking to continue their form built on strong organisation and an excellent defensive record.

The visitors should provide a stern test, though, and will be on a high after a ninth-placed finish last season plus the acquisition of Joe Allen from Liverpool and striker Marko Arnautovic's new long-term contract.

Who will come out on top at Selhurst Park? (Crystal Palace v West Brom - Saturday, 3pm)

These two teams finished low down the Premier League table last season and there is likely to be nothing between them on Saturday afternoon.

Alan Pardew, who led Palace to their first FA Cup final since 1990, has strengthened his squad by signing Andros Townsend from Newcastle, centre-back James Tomkins from West Ham and goalkeeper Steve Mandanda from Marseille so the mood around the club is positive.

Albion are under Chinese ownership after Yunyi Guokai (Shanghai) Sports Development Limited bought the club, but their only major signing so far has come in the shape of winger Matt Phillips from Queens Park Rangers last month.

If Palace make Selhurst Park into a fortress again, West Brom could be in for a long afternoon.

Former Manchester United manager Moyes knows his side will be up against it at the Etihad, although new boy Papy Djilobodji is keen to prove his critics wrong after joining in an £8m deal from Chelsea last week.

Jamie Redknapp looks ahead to Chelsea's Monday Night Football clash with West Ham

Having already spent over £60m on striker Michy Batshuayi and midfielder N'Golo Kante, the Blues will want to be in title contention again after a massively disappointing mid-table finish last season.

Slaven Bilic's side did get the better of Chelsea last season, beating the Blues 2-1 at Upton Park in October before being denied victory in the reverse fixture thanks to a late Cesc Fabregas penalty.

Conte can lay down an immediate marker by reestablishing Chelsea's London supremacy, with a win on Monday Night Football a step in the right direction.
