Anita Rani is one half of the presenting duo starting off your summer Saturday mornings on Sky Sports' Cricket AM.

Anita is a young presenter and journalist who is equally comfortable presenting major pop extravaganzas or news reports for ITN.

Last summer she reported for Channel Four's The Cricket Show, co-hosted Five's coverage of the MTV Europe Music Awards and is recently filmed her third series of Desi DNA, BBC2's award-winning Asian cultural magazine show.

She grew up in Bradford, and came to broadcasting early, with her own show on Sunrise Radio at the age of 14. She studied Broadcasting at Leeds University, and went on to work as a TV researcher for the BBC and various independent companies.

With her passion for music and argument, Anita was a natural on-screen talent, and was made the face of Street Beat for UK Play.

In 2002, Anita presented a groundbreaking live programme for Five, The Edit, combining news and entertainment for young people. She went on to become the new face of Network East, the BBC2 flagship Asian magazine show, and in Spring 2003 she fronted BBC3's satirical current affairs programme The State We're In.

She is a regular face of major pop extravaganzas for Five, including Spring Break Live and Party in the Park and Pop City Live.

Anita was one of the voices of Five's The Chart between 2002 and 2005. She has presented BBC3's first Poetry Slam, and has also worked regularly for 5 News as a freelance journalist.

She has presented two series of the BBC2 cultural magazine Desi DNA, and was part of the launch team presenting Destination Three, BBC3's late-night entertainment zone.

She recently joined BBC's Asian Network as presenter of the weekend breakfast show Hot Breakfast, and regularly stands in for weekday morning host Sonia Deol.

Anita was nominated as Best On Screen Personality at the RTS Midlands awards in 2005, before joining Sky Sports as one half of the Cricket AM presenting team in May 2006.
