Lipman: ready for battle
If we don't come out of this game with a win, well things are not looking good.
Muscle cars aside, Bath's Michael Lipman is preparing to do a bit of flexing of his own when Bath meet their old enemies Leicester on Tuesday night.
The long-time rivals meet at the Rec in front of the Sky Sports cameras and with just two points separating them in the Guinness Premiership, there will be no love lost - as usual.
"History echoes throughout both clubs and there has always been a massive rivalry between us," said Lipman on the Rugby Club.
"They have great personal and I think it will be one of those games that from the start to finish will be full on attrition.
"The boys will be getting into each other."
Not that this game needs any more building up, but both sides are very well aware what this means as far as heading into the play-offs.
"Mentally it means a lot, especially as it as it is a home game. Maybe in the play-offs we play at a neutral ground like Twickenham," added Lipman.
"If we don't come out of this game with a win, well things are not looking good.
"This is my fifth season at Bath and every year we have got to a final and we have lost. No matter how you try and put it out of your mind it is always there."
Bath looked to be going through a crisis when Steve Borthwick was going to disappear to Saracens and Ollie Barkley was going to Gloucester.
However Lipman says that they have got past the wobble.
"It was obviously disappointing for us when all that was going on. It was a bit up and down basically but the boys are getting down to it.
"As a group we want to send Steve and Ollie off with a bit of silverware."
