Clarke jumps to it for charity

Last updated: 26th July 2007

Former Rugby League star and Sky Sports presenter Phil Clarke is all set to carry out a tandem skydive from 13,000ft with The Red Devils.

The former Wigan and Great Britain captain will be jumping with the team at Langar airfield in Nottinghamshire on June 19, in support of the Rugby League Benevolent Fund - a charity aimed at supporting injured players.

Phil, who as well as commentating on Sky Sports live rugby league, is a regular fixture on Boots 'n' All and a weekly columnist on skysports.com, will be joined on his first ever skydive by Huddersfield Giants' Groundsman Mark Weavil.

Meanwhile, rugby league fans will get to see The Red Devils perform first hand this summer - with displays planned at four games:

Thursday, June 28 - Batley Bulldogs v Dewsbury Rams (at Batley)

Friday, June 29 - Leeds Rhinos v Bradford Bulls (at Leeds).

Friday, July 20 - St Helens Saints v Wigan Warriors (at St Helens)

Friday, August 24 - Sale Sharks v Samoa (at Stockport)

The Batley and St Helens displays will be in support of recruitment for the Parachute Regiment's volunteer Battalion (4 Para) - based in Pudsey, Leeds.
