Halliwell Jones: A-grade!
Warrington Wolves were the latest Super League side to come under the Boots 'n' All licensing spotlight.
With clubs being asked to put their bids in for a permit to take part in the competition from 2009, every week Angela Powers will be out and about seeing how the candidates meet the necessary criteria.
This week Angela made the trip to the Halliwell Jones to see just how Warrington shape up.
And it was good news for the Wolves as they racked up an impressive nine out of 10 points.
The only area they come up short is having another licensing applicant within 20 miles, with no fewer than five - Wigan, Widnes, Leigh, Salford and St Helens - on their doorstep.
But while much has been made of their big-name signings such as Matt King and Michael Monaghan, the Wolves are rightly proud of their youth development which has seen winger Kevin Penny emerge as one of the finds of Super League.
"This year you have got to have five homegrown players in the squad of 26 men," said chief executive Andy Gatcliffe.
"Look at the players involved this year - Ben Harrison, Andy Bracek, Chris Riley, Adam Neal - there's some great potential coming forward. And I'm not just saying that, it's happening in the first-team squad now. Look at Kevin Penny, he was a revelation last year.
"It's a boost not just for Warrington but the whole of the sport that you can capture these youngsters and bring them through, develop them they way we have done - and continue to do."
The Wolves are also thriving off the field. Their ground is used by Liverpool FC's reserve team and as well as getting the thumbs up from visiting Hull fans, the Halliwell-Jones is also used by the NHS and various community organisations
