Arsene Wenger claimed recently he was astonished to discover that youngsters in England have to pay to hire football pitches in council-owned parks.

"In France, you would have a revolution if you charged a fee," said the Arsenal boss, who has often been an outspoken critic of youth coaching in his adopted country.
