John Obi Mikel refuses to accept that the Premier League title is heading for Manchester.
The Chelsea midfielder knows that the United are in pole position heading into the final weekend of the season, but maintains that the race is not over yet.
The Blues need Wigan to take something from their game with the Red Devils at the JJB Stadium, while Avram Grant's men must take maximum points at home to Bolton.
Despite placing their fate in the hands of others, Mikel is convinced that the league crown will be lifted at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.
"We have a pretty good chance in the Premier League, and in the Champions League as well, so we just have to keep winning our games and wait for Manchester United to slip up," the Nigerian international told Sky Sports News.
"In the last game hopefully, no-one knows, they may drop two points and if we win against Bolton we win the title."
Grant future
With speculation continuing to suggest that the Blues are set to part company with manager Grant over the summer, regardless of how many trophies he picks up, Mikel has given his backing to the under-fire Israeli coach.
"He's a nice man, the perfect guy I like him," he said.
"We just have to see what happens."
