Tiger Woods with Dubai trophy 08

Golf Night had high praise for Tiger Woods' mental strength after he bounced back from a slow start to win the Dubai Desert Classic.

The World No.1 one started the Sunday's final round in a tie for fifth place, four shots adrift of leader Ernie Els, but he picked up five birdies in his last seven holes to come home in 31 to beat Els by one shot.

"He really stuggled on Friday and Saturday with his game," said Jamie Spence on Golf Night.

"We were not giving him much chance if he carried on playing in that form. Those two putts on the ninth were very odd. He said they were good, but they were not good putts to us."

"But on the walk form nine to ten, which is quite a long walk, he got himself together. He knew on the back nine you can make some birdies and he set himself a target. He nearly reached it at 30, but 31 was good enough."

Mark Roe believed that there is no stopping Tiger woods and his self-belief matches his game.

"He has an extra gear, he has something that is extra special," said Roe.

"He has the best golf game in the world, but we say this all the time about Tiger Woods - he is the most positive player in the field.

"Every tournament he starts, he expects to win."
