For so long seen as a bit-and-pieces all-rounder, White has emerged in the last 12 months as a key cog in Australia's limited overs side. While he may not be called upon to roll out his leggies as often in the past the Victorian has blossomed with the bat, particularly in the 50-over format. In Twenty20 cricket he is likely to be used as the Aussies' master-blaster towards the close of an innings. However he is capable of also batting up front, as proved in his time in county cricket with Somerset. A tall batsman, White has the power to clear the rope who likes to hammer the ball straight and over mid-wicket off the front foot. If he finds his form and gets enough chances, he should shine on the slow, low pithces in the Caribbean.
The formbook says Australia but can Pakistan pull off a World T20 shock, wonders Bob Willis.
Danielle Wyatt's emergence is proof that England's Women do have a bright future, says Beth Morgan.
