Growing up at Real Madrid can be difficult for any young player, with the Santiago Bernabeu not a place for the feint-hearted. Few academy graduates make the grade in the Spanish capital and are often forced to carve out a career elsewhere. That has proven to be the case with Jurado, who, after seeing his opportunities limited at Real, crossed the city divide in 2006 to join Atletico Madrid.
