The Ashes 2013/14: Watch Sydney Test match from Thursday

The fifth Test: can England regain some pride in Sydney?

The Ashes have gone, Jonathan Trott and Graeme Swann have left the squad and the rest of the players, along with their beleaguered coaching team, have nothing but pride and careers to play for.

Will the downtrodden Barmy Army finally have something to cheer about when their team take on the Aussies for one last battle in this miserable series Down Under?

There have been occasional sparks, KP has talked a good game and produced a few runs, but overall it's not been a great winter for Andy Flower and his wilting boys.

Can skipper Alastair Cook lift his team in this Sydney showdown in front of thousands of baying Aussies determined to witness a whitewash against the old enemy?

So it's game five, at the SCG, with play getting under way at 11.30pm (UK time) on Thursday but David Gower and his fellow Sky Cricket commentators will be on air an hour earlier to assess how England can salvage some pride.

There may even be some new faces to mull over as the tourists start to look ahead to other challenges awaiting them in the Test arena.

See if Cook can inspire England for one last pop at the Aussies, live and exclusive on Sky Sports.
