That is the premier reason Kevin Doyle joined QPR on loan from Wolves in the January Transfer Window, as the man himself told FL72-Preview.

Doyle netted just twice in 23 games for League One Wanderers before his switch to London.

But he is looking to reinvigorate himself at Loftus Road and thinks he could end the campaign winning promotion to the Premier League.

"Harry certainly helped me make my decision," said Doyle, who scored on his Rangers debut against fellow high-flyers Burnley. "He is a world-renowned manager and if he wants to sign you it's good for your confidence.

"It's only been two-and-a-half years since I was in the Premier League [with Wolves].

"But it seems a long time ago because a lot has happened in that time.

"I have had a frustrating few years with relegations so it's nice to start afresh and be back competing at the top end of the Championship.

"I am surrounded by great players here and there is lots of Premier League experience and knowhow, so hopefully we can show that for the rest of the season."

Strong

QPR lie third in the Championship but the Wolves side Doyle has temporarily left behind are doing one better in their division, sitting second in League One, two points behind Mark Warburton's Brentford.

The Black Country outfit suffered back-to-back relegations in the wake of Mick McCarthy's sacking in February 2012, but Doyle feels they - and the Bees - will be celebrating come May.

"I think Wolves will have enough [to go up] as they have a very strong squad," added the Irishman, who joined Wanderers from Reading in 2009 for a fee of £6.5million.

"If they do it I will get a medal, so I am hoping they can - but I have a year left [on my contract] there and it would be great to go back for pre-season with them in the Championship.

"Brentford, though, are a very good footballing team with a lot of quality and the manager change [from Uwe Rosler to Warburton] doesn't seem to have affected them.

"They have actually pushed on and gone on an unbelievable run, so if they can keep it up they deserve it."
