Carl Froch has vowed to fight a "big name" that can draw a huge crowd in Las Vegas following his victory over George Groves.
The IBF and WBA super-middleweight champion has switched his sights to making an impact in America after his eighth-round knockout of Groves at Wembley last weekend.
Froch admitted he was "very impressed" with James DeGale's victory on his undercard last Saturday but insisted that he would target a fight with an established world star next, suggesting a showdown with Julio Cesar Chavez Jnr is on the cards.
"We need a big name who is going to raise eyebrows and prick up some ears for Las Vegas to be a venue for a big stage," Froch told Ringside. "So it is probably going to be someone like Chavez Jnr because he is massive in America."
He added: "We are in the driving seat and I am the champion. I am not going to be giving the next young up and coming fighter the chance - I gave George Groves not one but two chances. I have earned my right to a voluntary and pick where I want to go. I have made it loud and clear that I would like to fight in Las Vegas. A fight against DeGale would not happen there.
On Chavez, the Mexican former WBC middleweight champion, Froch added: "For me to go back to America and fight someone like Chavez would be a big deal. And in Las Vegas, for me that would make me motivated and that would get the best out of me.
"I would be a close favourite because Chavez is a fantastic fighter. And it shows that the interest is already there State-side."
Fire in the belly
Promoter Eddie Hearn agreed that Froch's next opponent would have to be of sufficient quality and charisma to get the best out of the 36-year-old.
"The next fight for Carl is one that gives him the fire in his belly," he said. "The problem with the first Groves fight was that it didn't give him that and we saw what happened.
"I have not seen him this content for a long time so unless we can deliver the right opportunity for him, that makes him get up at 5am in the morning and hit those hills and the tough sparring, maybe he will be sitting there with you [on the Ringside sofa].
"There are plenty of options but it is just the one that really gives him the fire in the belly to go at it again."
