Seth Rollins used Randy Orton’s most famous move against him to retain the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Extreme Rules.

Rollins banned Orton from deploying the RKO on him at any point during their Steel Cage encounter in Chicago on Sunday night, but administered the manoeuvre himself to floor The Viper and escape the metal structure.

Orton did manage to crack Kane with an RKO at The Allstate Arena after The Big Red Monster – acting as Guardian of the Gates – entered the ring, but that only served to distract him and allow Rollins to pounce.

Kane proved a help to The Aerialist in the end, then, but he did allow his beef with his Authority colleague to get the better of him mid-bout when he cracked Rollins with a Chokeslam, immediately after hitting Orton with the same move.

John Cena also kept his United States Championship at Extreme Rules, defeating Rusev following the first televised Russian Chain Match.

Cena and Rusev each touched three corners of the ring but with victory looming for both, The Cenation Leader handed The Super Athlete – who had earlier banished his valet, Lana, from ringside – an Attitude Adjustment, tagged the fourth turnbuckle and secured the win.

Rusev, however, will get the chance to regain the United States Title at WWE Payback in Baltimore, Maryland on May 17 when he tackles Cena in an ‘I Quit’ Match.

The WWE Tag Team Titles did change hands in Chicago, though, with The New Day’s Kofi Kingston and Big E knocking off Cesaro and Tyson Kidd, Kingston pinning Cesaro after grabbing the Swiss’ tights.

But Naomi failed in her quest to win the Divas strap from Nikki Bella, downed after a cheeky kick from Brie Bella and then the champion’s Rack Attack.
