I write this with a heavy heart. Tommy was a true Scottish Star. In this ever changing world of big money transferres our "Scottish" old firm heroes are getting fewer. Tommy was one and a great servent to the game. My heart felt regards to his family and all Celtic Fans.

It was with great sadness to learn of the passing this morning of Tommy Burns. Tommy was my Celtic hero growing up and only certain people are blessed with the talents that Tommy produced week in week out in his faviourite team coulors. He also kept these performances going when he moved to Kilmarnock, i have met Tommy on a few occasions and everytime he has taken the time out to have his photo taken with my daughter. May go bless you Tommy, you will forever be in our hearts and minds, my thoughts go out to Rosemary and his family. GOD BLESS

AS a Celtic fan I was jumping around when I interviewed Tommy for my school magazine when I was just 10. Even though he was with Kilmarnock at the time he was happy to sit and talk about his time at Parkhead and was polite enough to sit for half an hour despite it just being a primary school mag. You would be lucky to get that with most footballers for national papers now. I think his character helped inspire me to continue in journalism. As with many others, I believe it was Tommy's general character which stood him out as a legend, above his high standard as a football. It's a sad day for Celtic. RIP Tommy

I am 22 yr old lad and Tommy Burns was the first manager of Celtic i grew up watching. My dad took me to the games and i was hooked. I loved his style of play, the way he was a normal guy like us fans who played his part for the club he loves. You could tell how much he loved his family. I am gutted today and this put's everything else in life into perspective

Shocked and stunned by the very sad news of the death of a man who had Celtic and most of all football running through his veins. For once the term "Legend" can be accurately applied. Condolences to his family and God bless "TB" and may he rest in peace.

Quite simply, one of the greats in Scottish football. His death will cross the great old firm divide and hopefully, will put in to perspective the nonsense that comes from "some" so called fans of the old firm, especially when both are going for the title. Tommy was a Celtic man through and through, however always conducted himself with great dignity on the park and off it, in victory and defeat. A gentleman. A true legend.

Very saddened to hear the news of Tommy's passing. Quite simply he was one of Scotland's and of course Celtic's greatest players and a true gentleman to boot. Of course, he was one of the "enemy" but one that most Rangers fans respected greatly. Our thoughts are with Rosemary and her family at this heartbreaking time. RIP Tommy.
