city will now start to face what united have to put up with from the lesser teams, eleven men behind the ball every week. With these victories thats all it will do for them. They may overcome it sometimes but week after week having to deal with it will be interesting. They have a good squad but can they go a whole season with most of them playing a bit part.Still a long way to go but it all makes for an interesting season thats what football needs.United will bounce back they always do,second half the season still to come thats when we are always at our best.

I bet Fergie regrets resting Howard Webb for such a big match. Bwahahahahahaha

Been a United fan since 68 and watched my first match in 1970. Ok, so we got a bit of a hiding yesterday but I'm proud to say that I am still United and nothing will change that.

That was a bit sickening to watch and I am am still feeling numb and shocked, but let's face it City opened us up like a can of sardines, yes we played o.k for the first half but when City did go forward I thought at the time how vunerable we looked, I agree with the comments about Evans, not United material really, I also think Ferdinand has had his day ? . Yes this is a wake up call for United and we can bounce back. I would like to see Berbatov team up with Hernandez, how can we sit a £32million player on the bench for so long and remember Berby was the highest scorer for us last season, Berby looks really unhappy at the minute, Welbeck only turns it on now and again. Just hope this never happens again.

Well done, City. Thoroughly deserved the win. Gives us something to think about. Looking forward to the return.

Take note of the goal scorers and let this be a wake up call for the England manager as none of them are English!!!

United needed to utilize Park to stop Silva.. like they did against Pirlo and AC Milan before. Silva created/was involved in 5 of 6 goals City produced. True MOM belongs to him. Anderson, although improved over the last season, still lacks the quality and the back 4 was mediocre.

David Silva involved in 5 goals city produced. True MOM enough said.

Until English football embraces a salary limit on teams in the premiership, money will buy the title. At present only 5 teams have the financial clout to buy a Premiership and the rest play for the crumbs. For the sake of the game change before it is too late and people just switch off the game.

City fans let's not get too excited. Remember it was only Man Utd we flogged 6-1. Let's wait till we play a decent team before we judge too much.

Well, let me start by extending my most heartfelt congratulations to Man City, they deserved every bit of it, and we deserved what we got. I still think the title race is going to be tight, I don't think united are going to finish fifth and I don't think that City are going to go unbeaten, finish with 100 points and win the quadruple. A game is a game and three points are three points, but, honestly, today's result might be a positive for United. It has been coming for a while, our defence has been shocking and a midfield pairing of Fletcher and Anderson isn't going to scare any team, though I'd still have them over Michael Carrick. Today we saw the frailties of this United said laid completely bare, comprehensively gutted, and left now with a very dark cloud hanging over the remains. Why on earth Vidic wasn't playing, I don't know, I don't care how rusty he is, Johnny Evans is just not good enough to be playing center back at Manchester United, not by a long shot. Going forward, United are fine, we showed that in the first half hour, the front four of Nani, Young, Rooney and what really should have been Hernandez is more than good enough. Same with De Gea, and I don't care what anyone says, the man is a great goalkeeper. That leaves more than half the team that needs sorted out, and fast.

after watching the game, i concluded that united really needs a creative midfield like modric or silva, our defence also needs to improve, vidic return should help but we need a consistent defence, even b4 this game there were signs that our defence was creaky. we dominted the game in the first half but couldnt penetrate the city defence that why we need a creative mid. having said that, we really need to bounce back from this set back. good result for city but i would like to see how they perform against other top teams before i judge their title credentials.

Congratulations to the city fans. The future of the blue side of Manchester looks bright, as long as the oil keeps flowing. Welldone lads, years of hard work has come off.

Cant see why all the Utd fans are in such a huff. We were beaten by a better team on the day, hammered. City have proved they are Premiership challengers, I take my hat off to them, but lets see what happens in the next 25 plus games. City fans telling me that the league is won, never heard Arsenal boys or Chelsea boys say this after a few games. Only time will tell

Good job for City...I see these jealous fans on here complaining about how much City have spent..especially Man U fans...they spent millions over the years..and now when City has money to spend...its suddenly a problem? How is that fair?

Everyone talks about the money because of one simple fact, if you didn't have it, you wouldn't be where you are now. United were played off the park today, hands down. It's too early to say what the rest of the season is going to be like!

sir, Alex should be ashamed by the defeat he has continued to display his new aquired qulification FAVOURITISIM i do not understand why he does not like to use berbatov since the cl final.today we saw what quality players can do, fergie has been trying to justfy that berbatov is not a good player and yet is the most skillful player we have unlike the players preferables wellbeck, henardez and rooney just because is british , running like a headless chicken does not make someone a good player , i do not understand why he keeps playing fletcher, anderson and company stop being cheap, yes there is no quality on the market you have just been shown otherwise swallow your pride and pick players on merit.little pea ,wellbeck and rooney are nowhere near berba.please lets have our old fergie back and throw this fergie away and fire all the assistants.

At the end of the day, Man City were 5 goals better than Man Utd. Yeah theyve got the money to buy top class players but I assume if other clubs had it they would do exactly the same! Personally I wouldnt like it, i like to see cheaper underated players prove themselves, then again being a Toon an I have too! Eithef way look out top 3, were creeping up on you! :D

A great day for Man City!

I just got to say silva is an incredible player. Man U went wrong with the players. I would of gone with hernandez up top instead of Welbeck. Here's the deal wellbeck plays better on with his feet but he is not in the box where we needed a player to constanly preasure the City defense. Look at Baloteli he is not a player that can move the ball much with his feet, but he can score. two chances two goals. one touch first goal, second goal he snucked by smalling. Man U want to see pretty football but we dont have the players that have the calibur of silva in the midfield. with hernadez playing as he did last season against chelsea, we would of done better. maybe our play might not be as beautiful as the first ten min of manchester united dominating but soccer games are won with goals not by playing pretty. we can't afford to try to play pretty against players that city has. Park is another player that should of played in the midfield for us. Let me say it he has three lungs, enough said about that. now we can just move foward and learn from this defeat.
