Have no time for either side, but see the rout as no real achievement as I feel this is just someone with limitless money buying the title. If City don't win it this year, yer man will throw another half billion at it until they do. The whole league is a joke and most sides are competing for a title they simply cannot win. If 6 sprinters in the Olympic 100m had to run with 5Ib lead weights in their shoes, people would see it as a joke. Well....guess what!

Lets be honest, the score reflects the game after the sending off, before the sending off United were the better team. As for Evans totally agree with most of the comments about him, his defensive awareness is not good enough for United and in general most premiership teams. The marking for the first goal was very poor and after the sending off they City used the ball very well. Scorelines mean nothing, 3 points and thats the end of it. One major plus point, Evans cant play for at least 3 games and fail to see what SAF sees in him. I think having a go at the rest of the team is a bit much as they were the better team before the sending off. Wouldnt fancy facing United in our next game. Donr forget Newcastle beat us 5 0 and then Southampton 6 2 but the title ended up back home at OT

Well played City you are far better team than Utd proved that today . Fergie how on earth can you pick Ferdinand , Evans , Evra, Anderson , they so over rated Ferdinand and Evans worst defenders in prem league time for you to go Fergie back to Scotland you havent got a clue any more bye bye.

You cannot beat the better teams with a midfield that includes the likes of Anderson (clueless) and Fletcher (good worker but not creative)....and what are the options we have - Carrick who is pure useless!! We signed some good talent in the summer but missed out on the midfielder we deperately needed. Could be a bare trophy cabimet at OT this season as a result. And leave it all to Evans getting picked a centre back.....it beggars belief!! Hurts me to say it but City were by far the better team today.

All people who are calling for De Gea to be dropped are idiots. He was at no fault for any of the goals. It was the defence and midfield in front of him. Smalling nor Jones are not right backs, neither of them are capable of putting in consistant performances there. Ferdinands legs are gone and Evra needs to realize he's not a left winger and he's a full back and actually making it look like he wants to play. So many times he'd stroll up the wing as if we're winning comfortably and then give it away and claim a foul. And Evans was never good enough to play for United as it is. He was always a level behind everyone else. Fletcher and Anderson aren't good enough. Which is why Sneijder, he has the creativity and pace we need, should have been brought in and we need a defensive midfielder too. Welbeck should have never been starting either, why is he ahead of Hernandez? why has Hernandez been a last resort in the last 2 matches? Last season proved enough for him to cement a starting position. Berbatov should be given a chance aswell, one goal would do alot for the mans confidence and maybe bring back the form he had at the beginning of last season. Overall, that squad has been getting lucky far too long now. When was the last time United even had more shots than the opposition? Basel, Galati, Chelsea, Liverpool and Norwich all should have beat us, City showed what should have happened if any of those teams could finish like they can.

Lawrence Howard are you having a laugh? Fergie is still the greatest manager about. Just a bad day at the office. City were great, and it pleased me to see us hammer United so greatly. Not that we need it, but the confidence gained from this match should really help us on the way to the title (hopefully), as well as other trophies. But we are City, something has to give soon? RIght?!

I think that perhaps today's result at OT gave new meaning to the term "demolition derby", while it has no doubt sent shockwaves not just throughout the PL, but the football world generally. It will be interesting to see now just how significant this result is re this season's PL title battle, and if the "balance of power" is about to shift from the red to the blue part of Manchester.

Really disappointed with our team selections again today. I hate to disagree with Fergie, as he always proves you wrong but am confused. Against Liverpool, our top 2 strikers on the bench, Rooney and Chicarito, today Chicarito on the bench again. What are we saving him for, Aldershot on Tuesday. And the substitutions, take off a winger Nani, and move Welbeck out to the wing. Nani is as likely to score as Welbeck who I don't think had a shot all game. I like Welbeck, but surely he should be getting his chances against the likes of Aldershot, while Hernandez plays the important games. The same at the back, Phil Jones is a better player than Jonny Evans, yet its Jones on the bench. Was also disappointed by Fletcher, his goal glossed over the rest of his performance, as a defensive midfielder he doesn't defend the back four very well at all and his distribution today was very poor. I thought Anderson was unlucky to be the one taken off as at least he can create something, occasionly. Obviously Fergie will prove me wrong and we'll hopefully win the title by a point, but very disappointed today.

Wonderful reading some of these comments.Am a City fan and all this bleating about how much money we've spent makes me laugh. If these whingers' clubs were bought out by some rich new owner would they plead with them asking not to buy big named palyers and pay an attractive rate of pay. The amounts involved are larger now but Liverpool, Man Utd and Chelsea have done the same thing in the past. City should be proud of their performance but we scored 5 goals against 10 men. It appears to have been a very good display against a disorganised Utd team. Utd will bounce back, they have a group of very talented players. City, keep on improving, enjoy your football and entertain us by winning the league in style

This has to go down as the outcome of Alex Ferguson's arrogance. Too much success and you think you can pick just about any team and get a result. Evans doesn't deserve a place on the bench not to talk about a place on the field. Rio is past it and Evra increasingly plays out of position. But when will Sir Alex be man enough to admit that his team is only strong on paper. We've had this coming for a few games now. Sir Alex needs to come off his high horse and ring the changes. That midfield needs impetus and the defence needs an overhaul.

True Red (Manchester United fan) says...

why am i reading on this article that city where great and utd poor? lets be realistic here, kompany should have been sent off for the off-the ball trip on wellbeck, richards should have been booked 4 times in the opening 5 mins, he may have then been sent off before half time if the ref had known the rules of football, then everytime city players where touched they went to ground yet almost killed utd players when they went in for challenges, untill evans was sent off we was the better team, and we played the better football and created the better and more chances, man city looked good against 10 men, looked poor against 11, and to show the ref had lost control and probally didnt know the rules, in the 75th min dzeko stood on jones ankle, the ref gave a free kick to man city? for what? and he also booked dzeko? how is that sense? how on earth can this ref manage to still be a ref in the prem league? and how on earth can any fan here say the ref didnt win/lose that game? ps still watching chelsea who have had 2 sent off and a pen against them? and they say respect refs? when they perform like this?
