If this is true that the 6th richest person in the world wants to buy NUFC the Mike Ashley please, please sell up, you can make yourself a legend in Newcastle by simply selling, this man has double the money of Abramovich. I cant see this happening as its in the News of the World, but I wish it would, then we could break that top four, keegan buying the best players in the world and attack attack attack, this could herald the return of thee entertainers

In the words of Mr William Blake when, I think, he was referring to the imminent Gareth Barry move:- "He who binds to himself a joy Does the winged life destroy; But he who kisses the joy as it flies Lives in eternity's sun rise."

I think that if Berbatov comes to united it would add a great deal of potential to our already great strike force, however there are other strikers like snata cruz with the same potential and influence they could add to our squad but i hope we sign berbatov as soon as and can Ronaldo say something please. Is he staying or going he is really acting immature, we united fans owe at least an explanation.

Im so glad we (Bolton) have supposedly rejected the bid for Davies he has to be one of our best players and if the above paper talk is true no way we dont need johnathan greening hes not good enough I feel we should still be trying to get James Harper from Reading hes got pace bags a few goals and is young, we Megson definitley needs to spend some money!!

I think the following will sign for the Toon Cuellar, Colloccini, Warnock, Lennon, one of Moutinho/Inler/Arshavin, Berbartov, Finnan (cover) Bocanegra (cover) or maybes that was a dream. Then my 400/1 will look good.

Buying players like Senderos is the old Newcastle way, buying pap just to fill out the squad. No decent players, no performances, angry fans and Keegan leaving the Newcastle Utd merry-go-round. When will it stop? And please stop asking us to be patient, I started going to SJP in 1969 and I'm still being patient for a win.

With the signings of Chimbonda Tainio Diouf and Malbranque competition wil certainly hot up especially in teh midfield, not sure if Chimbonda will be centre hal or full back? surely not replacing Bardsley? If we can get a quality CENTRE HALF (still want Evans) and a quality CENTRE FORWARD I really think we can look forward to an exciting season, I wont go on like our neighbours and predict europe but I think we should be very comfortable! I was one of the Keane doubters when he was appointed but boy am I happy to eat my words! Sterling job Keano! Keep up the goo work and God save Nial Quinn!

Personally i would like to see Nugent stay at Pompey. I appreciatte his first season with us was far from successful but he is only a young lad and he made a big step up coming to the premier league. I honestly beleive given the chances the boy will come good, you dont become a bad player over night. And besides all that selling him would be a huge financial mistake as we paid a reported 6 million for him last year and we would certainly not get anywhere near that kind of fee back if we let him go now! PUP!!

Just came back from spain and the spanish papers reckon Newcastle, Man City and Tottenham are in a bidding war for Seville winger Jesus Navas. Fulham are trying to buy Espanyol Defender Cristian Alvarez. Hull want Rafael Sobis and Man United are tracking Gonzalo Higuain.

Keane knows what he's getting in Balde, a good big solid centre half. He's a bit clumbsy at times, rash in the challenge but he's strong and will match any forward in the league in the air so he's worth a shot. Beware of his distribution - not as silk laden as you'd like but a great big player who has served Celtic loyally and deserves a shot at the English Premier!!!

Michael Cassar (Liverpool fan) says...
I think O'Neil overplayed his hand with regards to Gareth Barry. It has been a sticky affair but in the end Liverpool chose Robbie Keane over Barry ....and if Robbie bangs in 15-20 goals it may prove to be a smart decision in the end. As for Martin O'Neil, he now has to live with a player who in spite of all the professional will in the world will be furious that his dream move has been blocked.

Being a Hammers fan, I believe Behrami is an excellent signing. Having Yossi back would be a massive boost however. No more signings at The Boelyn? Shorey? We need some defensive re-inforcements if James Tomkins doesn't pull through. Out with Gabbidon!

Well hopefully tonight will open Walter's eyes. WE NEED NEW MIDFIELDERS!!! The amount of money that we got from the sale of Alan Hutton and the money we got from our UEFA Cup journey last season - where has it gone? We can pay £3.5 million for Kyle Lafferty and £2 million for a dud in Kenny Miller but we can't shell out £4 million for a quality midfield player who loves the club, knows what the SPL is all about and wants to play for us in Steven Davis. Also, when is Walter going to learn that Charlie Adam and Kirk Broadfoot are absolutely rubbish!! We need a few new centre halfs as well. What was wrong with giving Andy Webster a run out tonight instead of a guy who, every time he touches the ball gives the opponents the chance to score? We struggle at home against a green and yellow Hearts team and there is apparantly "No need for urgent signings, if we start the season with the squad we have we'll be happy". If that happens then Celtic will make it 4 in a row!! GET YOUR FINGER OUT AND YOUR PRIORITIES SORTED WALTER!!

I think Sunderland have made a couple of quality signings so far this summer and hopefully we will see a few more. Keane is doing a great job for us. We need to start looking for some decent defenders like Kompany from HSV. Nyron makes too many mistakes for me. too many cruyff turns in the box, who does he think he is ronaldo!!

Marcelo Mattos??! If Portsmouth sign him, I think they would regret it. He is not proven. He only scored three goals last season for Panathanaikos. There are far better options out there and Muntari is a big big loss.

I am a devout Toffee and have never doubted (Sir?) David Moyes in the transfer market. BUT...we NEED players and fast. Fernandes AND Moutinho would be fantastic acquisitions. And can someone please explain why we cannot attract investment yet a third rate team like QPR can!? Astounding. While we're requiring a striker, I hear a certain James McFadden might be available haha. Or how about Kris Boyd? He scores goals and reminds me of 'Big Dunc' for aerial power. And a big thank you to Andy Johnson. You were awesome for us.

Declan Marley (Manchester United fan) says...
I am really happy if Man Utd get Berbatov as he is a world class striker and can do a good job leading the line for us up front. I don't really know what Daniel Levy is on about when he accuses Utd of tapping up the player as its not as if Spurs haven't legally been in the right to pursue a player without breaking any rules. As for the price of Berbatov I think that Utd should not go over 25 million. Remember when we went for Michael Carrick, Spurs made sure they got as much as they could and eventually walked away with 18 million which I think was abit over the top. If Berbatov doesn't move in the next few days then we have to go for Santa Cruz as he costs less and is just as good.
