Last night reminded me why I love football so much! Forget whether Arsenal are English enough, or Milan's ageing team - it was simply the beautiful game being played beautifully!

Brilliant display. I dont think Man Utd fans should talk to much and concentrate on their own team when the Arsenal headlines read 'Arsenal stun Milan' and Man Utd's read 'United stutter through...".
What I am most pleased about is Walcott who has really come of age since his two goals against Birmingham. I know we drew there but atleast we added to our experience (now Clichy knows when to just boot it!).
The biggest plus though, for me, is Robin Van Persie. I think we've all forgotten just how good he is.

There is no doubting Arsenal's credentials as one of the top footballing sides in Europe. However to say that last nights defeat of AC Milan is one the best European triumphs is a massive overstatement. In reality Arsenal beat a side struggling for form in an ailing league whose average age is eventually catching up with the squad. Couple this with the absence of a fully-fit Clarence Seedorf, who in my eyes has been the glue that has held the mix of flair and functionality together that makes Milan tick. In truth it was a result that should not be seen as Inspirational but as a formailty for a team aiming to justify its tag as - The best footballing team in Europe

For Man U. & Liverpool fans to claim that Arsenal's hammering of A C Milan must be judged against the fact that Milan are an aging side is absurd. The players they have are world class and most of them were there when they took both Man U. & Liverpool to the cleaners within the last 12months. Sides don't go bad that quick - especially with those players in their side. Just accept it guys - Arsenal are not only good now, they are going to get better.

It was indeed a brilliant performance, and there wasnt a bad performance from the 12 or 13 men used on the night. Milan played as poorly as I have ever seen them play, Pirlo misplaced more passes in the first half than he has in the last 2 or 3 years of champions league football. Milan are a spent force and as a Liverpool fan at last years final, i feel this just proves what we all thought when we walked away losers last May that Milan are a side on the downward spiral and are there for the taking. But no matter how much of a shadow Milan were of the great sides we've come to know and expect from them, this shouldnt take away any praise richly deserved by Arsenals young side,

I think that all the credit needs to go to Arsene Wenger. He is surely the best manager in the PL if not the world. Alex F used to have a knack for spotting young, unknown players (Scholes, Becks, etc) but lately all he has done is buy safe, established and expensive players. Wenger never does that! He buys unknown players and turns them into world class performers. His track record is astounding! The likes of Anelka, Henry, Viera, Pires, Adebayor, Clichy, Toure and Fabregas amongst others. All young unknown players who are now considered to be some of the best in their positions in the world! He also makes a ton of cash for Arsenal because of it. He routinely sells players for much more than he paid! As a Liverpool fan, I was very jealous of some of the football that the young Guns played last night. Cesc and Flamini totally out played the World Cup winning duo of Gatuso and Pirlo! Brilliant. The Man Utd game, on the other hand, could have been marketed as a cure for insomnia! Well done Gunners! You should be proud! But LFC are still gonna win it :-)

Lots of Arsenal supporters on here. Yes Arsenal played well last night but seriously, Milan are having a 'Liverpool moment' Their squad is ancient and has been found out this season on the domestic level, having won just four matches all season at home. Arsenal did not do anything extraordinary, they played well like Arsenal have all season and the fact is Milan weren't capable of handling it like, say, a Bolton would. In 1999 Manchester United did something much more noteworthy in coming from behind 2-0 to beat Juventus 3-2 in their own back yard. To get carried away by this one result is very silly. Arsenal would not beat the more robust sides.

I agree Arsenal played really well against AC Milan however I completely agree with Glenn Galvin, AC have past it, the average age of there team is 32! They have some great players but with the young and fresh speed of Aresnal ofcourse there to struggle. When Aresnal played Spurs and Manchester United I didnt see them play as good? If the performance they played against United and Spurs occurs in the Champions League then I'm afraid your finished. There are top teams who have qualified and I would count yourself lucky if you get Fenerbache. I agree Aresnal have done well and I never wrote them off in the beginning of the season. They have a good side and a good manager, but this comment is to Sean Beard. Sir Alex Ferguson is the best manager in English football. He brings a new crop of players in and isn't afraid to let players go. Sir Alex has bought a nurmerous crop of players time and time again. And one great thing about him, he brings English players to Manchester United. We dont just have two players who are English. Yeah hands down to Theo Wallcott, hes fast, got skill and maturing day by day. Then theres Justin Hoyte and we all know hes brilliant dont we..I think not. One decent English palyer. However I do agree with Kevin Gallagher, this was an important win for Aresnal and they need that to progress futher in the Premier League to keep Manchester United away after there dismal draw at Birmingham and the luky win at Villa. I do like watching Aresnal play, I think there really good however like I said before, at times they dont show up. Praise for Wenger however he should bring in more English talent and make them play such a brilliant passing game rather than lots of foriegners.

You can say all you want about Kaka being below par, Inzaghi not converting chances and so on, but the reason they posed very little attacking threat was because Arsenal suffocated them in midfield. Flamini was incredible, he only let Kaka turn past him once all night! Fabregas defended when he had to, and Wenger's decision to play Diaby on the left of midfield meant that we had a bit of extra muscle when needed. Gallas put in a long overdue performance at the back, and neatly removed any danger. Don't say Milan are past it, they are the current Champions League holders with the World Player of the Year in their team. Great performance from Arsenal as a whole; Senderos looked a bit suspect, but nothing changes.

Milan may not be having a great domestic season this year but they didn't last year and they hammered hammered United and went on to lift the trophy. People are saying that MIllan are past it but it is all that experience that makes the difference in these C/L games, but in Arsenal they met a less experienced team that was able to embarrass them in possession and style of play. That they need to be given credit for. I felt so proud when Theo came on and put in a challenge that out muscled Kaka. For a team that was written off at the start of the season I think people should accept that this was a great victory regardless of AC aging team. If we had lost it would have been put down to our inexperience and MIllans great experience. The fact remains that Arsenal were such a tight unit that MIllan was force to play rubbish football. We showed composure the whole match and never lost our heads. Even Senderos was a mountain for once. Flamini played like a spartan warrior. Its great to be the first english side to beat bot MIllan teams in there own backyard and not just beat them. Embarrass them! Ive always said that Arsenals style of play suits C/L football. People will say thats because of the protection from the ref, but isn't this the worlds greatest FC club competitions and a representation of how football should be conducted at the top level. Respect must be shown to Arsenal which is something Ac didn't think they had to show arsenal. Great performance boys. I will remember that one for ever. And until another english side is able to produce a victory like that at one of the worlds footballing giants (and world club champions!) then i suggest people show some respect for what arsenal has achieved and how they represent the quality of the premiership. They controlled the game with flair and once again , hail theo.

I have to agree with Glenn Galvin's comment. Yes, it is a little on the pessimistic side, but fans and pundits alike are getting too carried away. Milan have been poor domestically this season and should have lost at the Emirates two weeks ago. Hats off the the young ones for the way they played, the energy was superb and after the last four performances it took a lot of courage to play that way - but I don't understand why everyone is so 'surprised' by it? AC Milan are not necessarily past it, but they are not getting any younger and Arsenal took advantage of that last night.
Let's see how we perform at Wigan this weekend. This is a game that should be won but, I fear, will not be. If professional players cannot motivate themselves for a trip to the San Siro to play AC Milan then they simply should not be professional footballers; but a trip to the JJB with their players fighting against relegation, a hard faced manager who instills a fighting spirit and it's 'inconsistent' pitch is, for me, an even higher test of character.
All I ask is not to get cocky, of course enjoy the moment, but there are many games left yet.
