Dis- loyal, ungrateful, spoilt, just a few of the nicer wirds that can be used for this overpaid prima donna. If he wants gone then get him sold.. simple as.. now fergie has to be honest with the fans and spend any money recieved along with the Ronaldo money on new talent ( not second rate ) .When the next title comes along he will be long forgotten.

This is no big problem, we have had great players before who left and we carry on winning as always! Let him leaving in Jan and cash in while we still can. He has been a fantastic player for the club and we should all thank him for that not get on his back for wanting to quite honestly change his place of work!! The master Sir A will find his next replacement and do the job, after all he is the greatest manager who has ever graced this planet!! Come on Man Utd do the business on Wednesday!!!

This is was always expected to happen. Sir Alex doesnt put up with any rubbish at the club & doenst like players with bad attitudes who think there bigger than the club i.e Beckham. With Rooney''''s poor attitude which he has been showing since the world cup, his private life and bad performances on the pitch, he was bound to cross paths with Fergie at some point. I dont think United have a replacement either, Owen is hopeless, Berbatov is''''nt good enough and the two young kids dont have enough experience. Another trophy-less season for United. Its also clear United dont have money to buy players either. Looks like there luck has ran out....thank God!

I''''m a Liverpool Fan and a Fan of Football: ManU Fans and the Press need to look at this situation from all angles, Waynes private life is a mess, he belongs to ManU but he also belongs to his family. I would not be suprised that to get his private life back on track there is a real pressure for him to get away from ManU and maybe even the Country. A fresh start for him and his family could be just what Waynes football and England needs. Good Luck Rooney!

Let him go! Its happened in the past and it''''ll happen again. We''''ve all seen Beckham, Keano, Ronaldo and even Nicky Butt walk through Old Trafford and become the best players in the world. Then make stupid decisions to leave the Red Devils! Rooney out, Samual Eto''''o in!

Once a Blue, always a Blue eh Wayne. I don''''t know why people are so surprised. Once A Judas, always a Judas. To all united Fans I really don''''t know why people are shocked. Think about how he arrived to United under a storm of throwing his toys out of the pram. Was Selfish and spoilt at Everton as he was at United. And will be wherever he goes next.

Mike Webb says...

He''''s so badly out of form and very frustrated, so might change his mind when form returns. At the moment, his second touch is normally a tackle to try to win the ball back.

What a shame. Another example of the uneducated but with physical talent being unable and unwilling to impose self discipline on himself and what lurks below his belt buckle. Sad day for Rooney, but United will survive and prosper, this is simply another commentary on the uneducated overpaid footballers who are led to believe they are God''''s gift to the sport and to hell with the fans.

It''''s not too late to put everything behind you Wayne!!!! Ferguson is the best guy possible that can help!

This is why football get a bad press and people lose their faith in the sport. MONEY MONEY MONEY. Ferguson has always invested time and money in young talent, and should be admired for putting faith in youth. Rooney has been given space despite his off-field problems; worshipped by the fans despite indifferent performances and has pledged his future to the club on countless occasions. What an overpaid, arrogant, disloyal and deceitful little brat. Shame on you Rooney. Get our shirt off now, and stop kissing the badge. No man is bigger than the club, and you certainly aren''''t.

I think Rooney is daft to leave Man Utd he can still inprove is game and temperment under Fergie!! If he dose go there is only one place he is going to and thats Real to join up wif Ronaldo again.

who said stay and become a united legend Dont Man U fans realise there is only one person who is really worried about being a legend and thats the manager Look at Beckam, just remember all the lies and the greed, money for his son,Rock of Gibralter etc You guts want to realise there is no one bigger than the club and that includes specifically Fergie

Ivan M... (Manchester United fan) says...

Look, if he wants to go then let him go. Things get sticky and he want to leave, easy for him to shift responsibility for his own shortcomings. I''''m not encouraging him to leave but no body wants a hero that doesn''''t beleve in your club. Liverpool fans know that Torres is on the same course and he is probably on the phone now asking Rooney on ''''Where will we go Wazza''''? The Glazers must be rubbing their hands in glee, two years of repayments covered and they never had to do a thing. Still we could pick up the next unknown starlet from some unknown club in some unknown part of the world and then we''''ll have to listen to drivel and lies how we have found a replacement for Rooney or Ronaldo for a snip!

Chris Broadwell (Everton fan) says...

this has nothing to do with football this is a greedy unloyal waste of space who is letting his agent do the talking he will do the same to the mancs as he did to everton so i will laugh when he leaves as the mancs did to us

WOW!!! what a great press conference..... once again the world has seen Sir Alex deliver a masterclass ... Its great that he has openly put the ball in Rooney''''s court, and also shamed his star player who in the past few months was acting like a diva. Now Rooney (or his advisors )have to come out with a response... i tell you whatever that maybe the old trafford faithful will never blame their manager after today''''s press brief!!!! For now its over to you Wayne

Darren Davies (Manchester United fan) says...

Clever or a stupid, to many blind man utd fans out there, the club is in serious trouble, we cannot afford new players, we cannot afford to replace Paul, Ryan or Gary and the standard of player coming through, although good it isnt world class, we are in worrying times. Rooney has proven right from day one he is a winner, and nothing stands in his way, that is why we all love him, and why he loved Manchester United, and when your like and hes at a a great club like ours that is going to struggle for the next 10 years for anything wouldnt you all be interested in moving on, his will to win is what he is, without it hes nothing. Rooney, fergie, the club or the fans arent the issue, the debts run up by our American owners, the lack of financial power and the uncertain future is, good luck Wayne, you will never find a club as big as us, but you will never be forgotton sorry guys but we should support him, and use this as another reason why the Glazers should leave Old Trafford

Scott D (Newcastle United fan) says...

Fair play to Ferguson. Rooney''''s performances have been dreadful of late and he deserved to be overlooked. Egotistical Rooney spitting out his dummy?! I''''m sure United fans don''''t want players at their club that don''''t want to play for the club. Just like any other fan.

Maxwell Delaney (Millwall fan) says...

This could be just what Wazza needs, a fresh start away from the English press would be ideal, relocate the family abroad and restart his life. He''''d be silly to stay in England and can only see him going to 1 place, Real. This could do the national team a right favour!
