Everton have confirmed the signing of Jermaine Beckford on a four-year contract following his departure from Leeds United.Back to story
i cant understand that he has joined Everton.. he has signed a four year contract to sit on the bench.. you could have joined Delphy at Aston Villa Oh well

After last years playoff semi-final second leg versus millwall, (when we won a penalty and snodi was our pen taker, jermaine greedely refused to hand the ball over and missed the kick! i still think that cost us promotion last year.) jermaine has recieved alot of stick from me, but when all is said and done he scored the goal to get us promoted this season, after as a team we nearly threw it all away. I think he has a very selfish nature, but i really hope he does well at everton and scores plenty of goals, i think he will be a major player next season.

Not a player who always gives his best or tries his hardest week in, week out. However, he scored crucial goals for us to get us promoted and will forever be thankful for him. Definitely quick and talented and if he gives his all, he's a terrific player. Will succeed for sure. And he'll get better opportunities at Everton than several other clubs.

you will have to work hard by working hard i mean 90 minutes of running your socks of otherwise you will just keep the bench warm, at everton we fight fight fight until the whistle so be prepared for that, but moyes will get that from you an if you can score half of the goals u scored last season next season you will have been a great signing, i personally think its another peice of magic from moyes!!! COYBB fourth next season

seem to remember all the millwall fans saying the same about cahill and look at him now , if he does fail it will not be down to the club as moyes will get the best out of him

Quality player, good luck at the toffees. Moyes will have him working for the full 90 minutes and if they use him properly from the start of the season he will get a hat full for them. Good luck :) Hopefully Leeds will get someone who is hungry as Beckford was, appart from the last 6 months. Bothroyd or Hooper will do me.

All the best to Jermaine, cheers for all the goals over the past 3 seasons and helping us get promoted. If you can't get a first team place, you are always welcome to come to us on loan. MOT.

Just want to congratulate Jermaine Beckford on doing what he was suppost to do, SCORE LOTS OF GOALS!. His record speaks for itself and i can't thank jermaine enough for the 3 great league 1 seasons hes had with Leeds United. Yes he didnt perform in every game and he did come across like he could have put in more effort in some games, but even in some of the bad games, he still came up with an important goal, and he was paid by Leeds to score goals. When we signed Jermaine from wealdstone, he struggled for fitness and pace of the professional game, but his 2 loan spells helped him to adapt quickly and he eventually got up to speed with it and became a Key player for us. I was pleased to see him be captain for the last game of the season and for him to get the last goal of the season was also a very nice moment for him, the club and the fans. He led the team very well against bristol rovers, he got forward, he got back and defended when required, and he worked hard throughout and got the goal he deserved for his efforts, it capped off what was a great day for all concerned at Leeds United. A message for all everton fans. Don't expect too much of Jermaine too early on, he may need half a season or so to adapt to the pace of the premier league, he will need to get used to the new players he's playing with each game. Yes he got his goals in league 1, but he gave man utd, liverpool and spurs a tough time in the cup games, and got a couple of goals against these teams aswell. Hes a natural goalscorer, hes got pace, good strength when needed and a great eye for a goal, he doesnt score many headers but when you've got a 6'2 striker coming at you with pace, you'll put fear into any defender, he can do that. If evertons players give him service, he will provide. 12 goals or more is a good 1st season effort. Moyes has got a bargain as Jermaine in a contract would have cost 4-5million. Good luck Jermaine, Everton enjoy!

I actually think this could be a good signing for us even if Leeds fans think he isnt good enough for the Prem. I watched the games against Man Utd and Spurs and he impressed me in those games so that gives me confidence. Could he be the new Ian Wright? Lets hope so!

To all so called Leeds fans. Stop being so bitter about the whole thing he's young and has a bright future ahead of him. When he scored that goal against united u all thought that he should be playing in the prem. Playing for such a small club like Leeds, he can't have a chance of winning anythings at least at everton he has a chance

Thank you Beck's for your contribution to get Leeds promoted, I feel you will do well in the premiership and good luck. You got the right attributes to score goals at that level. All these haters who keep knocking you seem to forget you contributed alot to getting leeds promoted. He has the right players around him who can create chances so he should do well.

Good luck Jammer. Everton are a good team on the up, and Moyes is a great manager, which will help you progress and develop. You leave Leeds as a Hero

Well good luck Jermaine, I think he will do a good job in the PL, he is a finisher and thats all you need, with the likes of Arteta, Pienaar, Baines etc providing service, he will do the job, dont you worry Everton fans. Now we need to find a replacement and soon.

He got us out of many sticky situations over the years and Leeds fans can't blame him for wanting more halfway through his playing career. Hope he does well with the Toffees and I hope we don't meet him in a cup match....! Great move for Becks but is jumping a division too much too soon?....

Good Luck Beckford, Thanks for all your goals, I actually hope he can make it in the Prem.
Posted 12:44 31st May 2010
Wont be able to handle the premiership and giving him a four year contract is a joke. Has Moyes seen him play this season? because the second half of the seaon hes been awful and wont be quick enough and technical enough to play in the prem. Best of luck but they will be selling him after a year if that.
Posted 12:39 31st May 2010
Don't think he will be anything special in prem for everton hasnt done much for leeds since man utd game but best of luck to him, we need a good forward now
Posted 12:39 31st May 2010
Delighted !!! He stayed with us and helped get us were we are and thats all simon grayson asked in january and he done it so fair play to him. I am Glad he went to Everton as they have a good manager in David Moyes who i believe will get the best out of him. I know ther is plenty of Beckford haters but all i say to you is his goal got us were we are now, his goal against Man u got us to beat them in old trafford for first time since 1981. And he is the only leeds striker to score so many goals in one season since lee chapman. so he is a legend at leeds and i hope he will go on to be a legend at Everton. Strikers Need Goals and he can get them. MOT

Cheers for the goal that beat Man U Jermaine. I still think the Premiership is a step too high for you son. Lets see the performances when you have to WORK for 90 minutes. Good luck!
