Sean - (Everton fan) says...

Joleon Lescott seems to be the second choice, but even his ability may have been exaggerated after an excellent first season with Everton LAZY journalism hes been at everton for 3 seasons now and played every match bar 1 and he was fit to play that match but was rested

Colin Capalid says...

Dunne a liability you fool, He was and still is class, I watched city all last season and aprt from a couple of own goals and 2 sendings off he was as solid as he always has been. the weakest link in our team is definately Richards He seems to think he's made it and everyone else should cover for him. Bring in a right back hughes and our back four will work well this season

Dan Keogh (Everton fan) says...

Phil Neville had a great season in the middle of the park, Rodwell may take that role in the future. We need defensive cover and someone to push Osman out of the team because he is average at best.

Cee Tenman says...

Arsenal - We need a striker to replace the gaping chasm left by Henry two seasons ago, and now that even Adebayor's buggered off I don't particularly leaving it down to Dickless Bender to fill in for the perma-crocks Eduardo and Van Persie. A ball winning midfielder is essential as Diaby is far too hot-and-cold and Song is...well...the less said the better (although he didn't embarrass himself too much at centre back). Once again, the source of the problem can be traced back to the departure of another 'aging' great, Patrick Vieira. Too old, Wenger says. Still European quality say Inter, Juve and...well...everyone, even Harry Redknapp. A commanding centre back wouldn't go amiss. With Gallas in tears half of the time and Toure giving away more penalties than a traffic warden, a towering figure is essential. Vermaelen is a good start, but £10m is a lot for a defender under 6ft and who doesn't even start for Belgium. A case could also be made for replacing Almunia. Whilst he did all right last season, we know he's no David Seaman. Hell, he's not even Jens Lehmann - at least he was a showman. If we're to be truly serious about maintaining fourth next season, let alone pushing for the title, Wenger needs to sort it out. Sacking him would be ridiculous, but a serious talking to is necessary. I for one would be happy to volunteer.

Steven Foley (Sunderland fan) says...

I think Sunderland should bid for Mido now that he's on the cheap. He may have had a conterversal carrer but he is still a quality stricker.

Ian Davidson (Everton fan) says...

Personally i cant understand what your saying about everton. considering fellaini was signed to be the holding midfielder, he was pushed forward to cover our depraved squad. personally we need depth like fulham, we have barely any defenders and maybe lack a midfielder and a striker.

Stefan Harsley (Hull City fan) says...

I've got to say as a city supporter i have never been so embarassed to call Phil Brown our manager. The man is completely out of his depth now, he has lost the respect of not only our players but it seems even his transfer targets take one look at him and run. The board frustratingly watch on as Duffen and Brown get closer and thus making less chance of a change in management, it is about time we started taking action, which may sound a bit drastic so soon but the fact is no one who has the ability to keep us up next season will come here with Brown at the helm, plus it would be nice to get rid of Brown before he sells Turner..

Usman Ahmed (Blackburn Rovers fan) says...

We at Rovers need a forward who will play the way sam likes someone who is willing to run and will ruffle a few defenders along the way.Zijic would be an obvious option as he wants out of Valencia. The Euro is the problem and they paid too much 13million of them and rovers should offer 8million Euroes.we have had our luck with Roque and Benni we need another good forward.

Antonio Lawrenzo (Cardiff City fan) says...

cardiff city ,its a joke selling all our quality players,eg, parry, purse, and maybe ledley ,i can see why Mcormack wants to leave, new stadium but no tidy players, Cmon davey jones sort it out or we will never see premiership footie at cardiff.

Barry Kennedy (Manchester United fan) says...

Now Nick Miller, why would go and say something stupid like Richard Dunne is a liability. It was a good article up until that point. As one lad pointed out, he was City's player of the year for a number of seasons on the trot, so one bad season doesnt make him a bad player. He's been class for Ireland over the last fews years. And if its true that Man City are going for Lescott?! THAT is a joke, because he's not fit to lace Richey Dunne's boots. Dunne is a legend, dont knock him or he'll come after ya!!!! Wait til you see him nullify Italy later on this year!!!

Pradeep Rao says...

Arsenal have not been able to find a replacement for Theirry Henry since he left. Many strikers (Eduardo, Adebayor, Bendtner) have come and gone but have had not much impact through injuries or poor performances. I can only see the Gunners winning next if they find a striker who can net 35 - 40 goals a season.

Dave King (Manchester United fan) says...

Fergie was right about city, all they can do is talk about United, and the fact that they think stealing Tevez from us is a massive thing... well it really shows how sad they are. City have splashed out so much cash already this summer on new players and the only reason they are there is for the money. Hughes thinks he can handle the vast amount of ego's being injected into the club, well if he is totally honest with himself he will see the team fall apart sooner or later. City are basically trying to do what Chelsea done which was buy a team. Fortunately for Chelsea, they managed to gel together and win things within their first 2 seasons, but now because of that Chelsea have unbelievably high expectations. They have a new manager every 6-12 months and personally I can see that happening at City if they don't reach what is expected of them now. Top 4 finish for City? Very unlikely!

Phil H says...

Daryl Murphy did not reject us- he wanted a hell of a lot more money than we were prepared to offer a 2nd string striker (talk of 25K+ were mooted). He was certainly not worth that. As for Fulham- Bobby Zamora is a very good player- that is why Hodgson wants to keep him. Brown is a bit of a joke at the moment in the local area. Many fans calling for his head- we need 3 strikers and need them fast- this is now getting a little desperate- our current strikers couldnt hit a cows backside with a banjo.

John S (Manchester City fan) says...

"Dunne a liability", you obviously dont watch City. He didnt have his best season, but spent most of his tome trying to cover for a very poor Micah Richards. Terry, Lescot or any other top defender would have looked dodgy with our back four. If we are to finish in the top 6,we need a left back(bridge isnt the answer),Centre half and right back. Keep Dunney and give him a chance with a few decent defenders to play alongside!!

Ben Woodcock (Portsmouth fan) says...

Let's face it, we're probably on our way down. We've named Paul Hart as a manager even though the likes of Mancini are unemployed! Mokeona is our only addition, a reject from a club that finished below us last year! We're linked with players who've "shined" only in the championship and league one such as James Perch and Sam Ricketts! What the hell is wrong with our club?! This page hit the nail on the head, we definitely need a new team... and manager! The only promising news I've read this week is we're in talks with Kalinic and it's rumoured we're also linked with bringing Benjani back to Fratton Park but other than that we're gonna be the laughing stock of the league. Our kit makers Canterbury have gone bust so I don't know if that means our kit will change again although it's been rumoured that we had enough kit delivered before hand to last the season already. The only thing I can say at the moment is there's going to be very worrying times ahead at Fortress Fratton. Play Up Pompey!

Mohit Mitra (Liverpool fan) says...

Liverpool need a quality striker to take the pressure off of Torres and Gerrard - I think Huntellar would be a great purchase for us, we just need to raise the funds for his purchase by selling Arbeloa (Madrid) and Dossena (Napoli) and then just hope the owners are prepared to splash a bit extra.. The only worrying thing is Huntellar's wage demands.. Hopefully Babel and Kuyt can convince their countryman to come to Anfield instead of going to Spurs!

Larry David (Chelsea fan) says...

There's absolutely no need for any big name signings at Chelsea. The squad is perfectly fine as it is. Any Chelsea fan having reached the age of twelve should see this. It's not Football Manager, you know. Just drop Pizarro, please.

Ian L (Bolton Wanderers fan) says...

Megson is obviously a genius at work. He sees Man City signing 5 strikers so decides to bring in robinson, ricketts and davis to assist our 11 men behind the ball tactics. Since there are no good strikers left to buy and creative midfielders aren't needed when you have mccann, davis, muamba, o'brien, cohen etc

Mark Waterman (Portsmouth fan) says...

Lets face it, we are in for a tough season. It's clear Al Fahim wants solidarity, but how can we do this without a team. I say keep crouch, buy top quality players with his billions and stay in the league at least... the route we have chosen- Hart, tight budget, may well lead to our downfall.

Chris White (Arsenal fan) says...

Arsenal need at least one defensive midfielder, a striker, and ANOTHER centre half...even if the belgium guy is great, if he gets injured we are back to last seasons calamity back four!
