Haha! Typical really from the United fan (Josh Morton) saying it was a boring final, lets go back to last years final, which for a neutral fan must have been boring , excuse me...who beat United?? Pompey!! Im not a pompey fan myself, Ipswich through and through, was even more pleased that Sir Bobby Robson presented the trophy + an ex-Ipswich player receiving a winners medal, Herman!! Being a neutral fan, I thought it was one of the best finals i've ever seen, absolutely great! Well Done Pompey, you deffinately deserved, hard luck to Cardiff, but hey they tried their hardest but they couldn't take down the mighty defence of Portsmouth, role on next years FA run in, hopefully, the next one can be just as good as this years...

i am a manchester United fan and i must say that todays final was a good game i would just like to say how dissapointing Wembley stadium is, i went to last years final and to make the new Wembley stand up to the old 1 and even the Millenium Stadium they need to change the layout, the stadium itself looks great but the middle teir full of the suits completely ruins the atmosphere and NEEDS TO BE CHANGED

Fantastic to see both Portsmouth & Cardiff at Wembley. Delighted for Harry Redknapp. If anyone deserves a big break in football, it is him. It's nice to see a change of teams at Wembley instead of the big four. Fantastic set of fans on both sides, brilliant atmosphere and both clubs done thier fans proud. For those who thought is would be boring and missed the game, shame on you. All clubs who get to Wembley deserve their big day. No matter who you support, we all should congratulate Portsmouth & Cardiff, they did what our teams could not to and make it to the FA Cup Final. For the lads of Cardiff, you did your best, you may have lost, but have gained many admirers, well done. Harry & Pompy, the cup is yours until next year and you thoroughly deserve it. Your fans are amazing and I'm pleased for them as well you the team. Well done Harry, a legend in football.

I thought it was great that the big 4 missed out this year; it was even greater that there were more home grown players on the pitch than expensive imports - this has got to be good for the game, the kids watching and the local communities - well done FA Cup!

Thoroughly great nail biting final! Well done to Harry & the Pompey Lads for weathering the storm of a Cardiff Team who just weren't gonna lie down & go away. Keep Tony Adams! It's a must!

Dave Wilson... must be related to Bob Wilson, I have been a Spurs fan, grass roots, for 50 years, however I live in the USA and had to pay 12 pounds to watch the cup final. Best best best 12 pound ive spent in years, talk about " no nuetrals being interested" look at the comments being posted from fans all over the place. This year the big four monopoly was broken, and although it may be a while before it happens again, that is the beauty of the FA cup, a competition that allows the likes of Barnsley and Cardiff to "have their day". As far as the game went, great final, shame Cardiff couldnt turn posession and great play into chances, thought they were unlucky to have a goal dissallowed, but thats footy, well done Pompey and "Arry" see you in Europe next year

Congratulations to Portsmouth, 2008 FA Cup Champions. Also well done to Cardiff for coming this far. Good game. I don't think I saw many empty seats. Would have been even more interesting had Fowler and Defoe played. I think it was good not to have any of the Big 4 in it this year.

Just returned from the FA Cup Final. As a Pompey supporter it was a great day out . I wish to thank the Cardiff team and supporters for making it possible. My sentiment is for Cardiff to meet Portsmouth again next year in the FINAL- bring it on. Great banter between the supporters on the tube trip out of London. The FA CUP competition won today even Sir Bobby Robson turned up - There is only one Harry Rednapp

Just got home from the most amazing day at Wembley - The City is absolutely buzzing and it is proud time for everyone. Loved the game, Cardiff were great but our class shone through and I thought that The back four as well as Diarra and Muntari were fantastic, (football is about defending too you know)! All we need now is for Celtic to win the SPL and Italy to win the European Championships and I can have a very happy summer - PuP - Hail Hail - Forza Italia!!!

Well done Pompey i still can not believe it,H it is a dream come true well done lord Harry Redknapp. It makes a change not to see the top four . They are so bitter, play up pompey forever

Josh Morton (Manchester United fan) says...

What a boring final. It was more of a Johnstone's Paint Trophy final than the FA cup final. Luck was definitely on Pompeys side throughout the competition

Danny Gibbs (Portsmouth fan) says...

OMG these people saying it was a boring final. Three things why it was not boring for me when it was teams i didnt support. Two both Pompey and Cardiff are low budget teams compared to the 'top 4' , for example Manchester pay around 20mil a head and pompey whose most expensive is 8 mil beat them and get to the final. And if it was a boring final for an Arsenal fan, how long is it since u have seen silverware. Well done Pompey well deserved Harry the genuis shows us why he is the best english manager in the world. Well done Cardiff built from nothing well done Dave Jones good match outplayed us most of game. Bring on Europe.

Liam Carson (Tranmere Rovers fan) says...

am very surprised that everyone has now decided to praise harry redknapp just because he has finally won something because harry redknapp hasnt just become a good manager over night he has being doing postive things in football for years . should our country have an english manager again Harry should be 1st choice he has done everything required now as wall as intorducing joe cole , micheal carrick , lampard , rio and glen johnson to us !

Neil Maclain (Portsmouth fan) says...

To be fair, there hasn't been any real slagging from the big 4! The comments here from their supporters have been fair enough, and they are entitled to an opinion. Back to the game ... we rode our luck definitely, but as has been pointed out elsewhere, we only conceded ONE goal throughout the competition. All praise to Harry and Kanu, but David James and his coach Dave Coles are the biggest factor in our success, all season as well as today.

Sharon Chamberlain [pompey fan] (Portsmouth fan) says...

Yes a big congratulations to the Pompey team for winning the cup today! Commiserations to Cardiff - well played all round. Especially pleased for Harry Rednapp & David James. For me, Glen Johnson was outstanding. All the players earned it and deserve the glory. I had to get up early and pay $25 to watch the game here in the US, but it was worth it! Just looking at this site - seems like Dave Wilson is wrong. There are lots of "neutrals" who were interested to watch and enjoyed the game. We should ignore the few "divas" from the "big 4" who are slighted no attention is on them today! And by the way...we'll see you in Europe!!

Posted 20:21 17th May 2008

Lee Davies (Portsmouth fan) says...

Superb Pompey truly had to win this cup final and have done what a class day for the fans and the football club, in europe next season and going to win that aswell. Thank Harry and staff for the victory. Cant wait till next season. play up pompey

Steve Jones says...

It's funny how Manchester United fans and Arsenal fans are saying it was a poor and boring final. They should take a look at the boring 1-0 and 0-0 (penalties decider's) finals they have been in. I thought it was an exciting final and im glad Man utd and chelsea were not part of it. Well done portsmouth and Harry Redknapp!

Nobby Clarke (Portsmouth fan) says...

As a Pompey lad born and bred i'm so chuffed for my home team. I have to give a big congratulatioins to the players and also the manager Harry Redknapp. Also a big congratulations to all at Cardiff City. You played brilliantly and gave us a fight till the death. I read with annoyance some of the comments by fans of some of the 'Big 4'. All i can say to you guys is, " You had your chance to be at Wembley today and you blew it" so stop bleating. Once again Congrats to the Pompey team and comisserations to Cardiff.

Posted 19:38 17th May 2008

Charlotte Biles (Southampton fan) says...

Well mad Pompey won, they blatently didn't deserve it after all the chances Cardiff had, it was only out of luck that they won. Congrats 2 them anyway
