Dale Cummings (Arsenal fan) says...

Wenger has always been astute in the transfer market so he will have something up his sleeve. Having said that, I do not see him spending £18 million on Barry or Alonso who is too similar to Fabregas. I expect to see another unknown gem show up as he will play Denilson alongside Fabregas next season.

After aquiring some of the brightest young talent around in Samir Nasri and Aaron Ramsay, Arsenal fans have a lot to look forward to already. Wenger will not be bullied into paying extortionate and inflated wages because a players agent believes they are worth it. He is not one to be shy either when it comes to showing an Arsenal player under contract the door, if they cross him. We look forward to seeing the rejuvinated Eduardo returning, "Theo" coming of age, Vela "The Warrior" finally given his chance, and the beautiful game returning to our Saturday afternoons! Come on you Gunners

Chris Monk (Bristol City fan) says...

Arsenal need to seriously consider getting outside investment in order to compete at the top of the Premiership. The top clubs in the league are spending big bucks, mainly due to people having invested millions into the clubs in order to make them more competetive. Arsene Wenger recently came out and said they were now a "selling club", or words to that effect, in order to pay off their new stadium. That won't have helped the player's confidence in the club's future, and the fans, well, they must be devastated. The lack of spending sends out the message that there is a lack of ambition at the club. That may sound harsh, but the modern game is unfortunately all about money. Money equals ambition, and a lack of spending tells players at a club that there is a lack of ambition. So Arsenal need someone to come in, pay off the remaining payments on the stadium, invest millions into the playing staff. That way it strengthens the team and sends out the message to the players and fans that Arsenal wants to go places and be regularly competetive in the Premiership.

Martyn Naylor (Arsenal fan) says...

We, the Arsenal fans are in full support of Wenger's decisions when it comes to transfers and our squad, he knows what is best better than any of us! He provides us with a sense of acomplishment when our team wins beautifully. But...we desperatly crave a big name signing! Xabi Alonso, David Villa or anyone! As far as an 'exodus' goes, we (the fans) only want players at Arsenal who want to play for Arsenal, if not then there will alwasy be someone else, Arsenal F.C will live forever!

Tony Bird (Arsenal fan) says...

Diaby and Denilson should be given their chance this season. In the past both have played well and deserve a fair go at making a central midfield spot their own. Diaby in particular has the strength needed for the premier league and could become a very good player indeed. I think we need a new central defender rather than spending our money on Barry or Alonso.

Michael James (Arsenal fan) says...

Arsenal has quite a few midfielders that will step in. It is now time for the likes of Diaby and Denilson to play are larger role in the first team. Players such as Merida and Barzite can now see first team action becoming more of a reality. With the money from Hleb and maybe Adebayor's transfer fee Wenger will find suitable replacements for the outgoing players.

I think we shall have to wait and see. I would not second guess the Arsenal manager.

Marcus Thorne (Arsenal fan) says...

People forget we have Diaby (An excellent holding midfielder is his natural position), Denilson (Class and still only 20) and you could include Alex Song as a midfielder. We do however need to buy some experience to cover for Gilberto and Flamini. Alonso would be a good addition, but I would like to see Veloso.

Jason Smith (Arsenal fan) says...

I think he certainly needs a defensive midfielder to company Fab. We need to win something this year, its been far too long since we won any trophy. Id like to see Barry in our shirt although 18m for him is unlikely for AW to go near him. We need to stop being a feeder team, the faith given to young players is not repaid when they decide to leave for an 'apparent' bigger side. What have Barca or Milan won? Nothing
