David Shaw (Manchester United fan) says...

Robinho to Man city, its comical. as well as citys news owners making a list of players that they want, Torres, Ronaldo, Kaka, Fabrigas and messi, well listen up City you may have all these millions but you will always be Manchester City which means that unless your desperate to leave the club your at like Robinho was you will never get these big name players. I hate to say it but one day Ronaldo will leave Old Trafford but it will never be for Man city. If Robinho had a choice in the matter he would have chosen Chelsea, so sont think it was for choice because it wasnt. Manchester City should conserntrate on Uefa cup, wining the prem is fantasy and wont happen. As much as i dislike Chelsae i hope that they give City a hammering next week, it might give them a reality check. The top Clubs in Europe are Man utd, liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, Barcelona, AC Milan, and Real Madrid, to put Man City in that category in laughable to say the least.

I feel that the signing of Berbatov was brillant as he will certainly boost our attacking options for the double defence. Also im not too worried about Robinhio as I personally believehes too lightweight for the Prem. Also im glad that youth players are being drafted into the squad such as Gibson, Da silva and Possebon. Again im not too worrried about Chelsea as they are good but an ageing squad with no young legs.

Alberto Tomba (Arsenal fan) says...

I think Robinho's last minute switch to Manchester City is proof that many of todays footballers dont care about the football anymore. In real terms whether or not you play for Chelsea or Hull Footballers earn stupid amounts of money. I believe that this is deserved but in many cases you see all too many footballers moaning about how much they dont earn. Look at Ashley Cole for example when he was at Arsenal. As much as I am an Arsenal fan I am pleased that Manchester United got their man in the end and for all the criticism that Berbatov gets I honestly believe that he moved to United for footballing reasons. The New Man City owners need to wake up however as I think that as much as there are those footballers who might consider a huge wage packet at a mediocre team like Man City, the players that they have cheekily shortlisted such as Fabregas and Torres would hopefully have more sense than to sell out to the likes of a team that was in Division 2 only a few years ago.

Kevin Burkett says...

I think the value paid for Robinho is a total joke. Real Madrid paid around 14 million for him a year ago and he wasn't good enough to earn a permanent place in their team. Now he is a "brilliant" player to get at 32.5 million. It's not the money paid for a player that makes him special, it's what he does on the pitch. Man City fans are delighted but, in truth, the only one who is really laughing is Calderon. What a financial coup he has just landed for his Real. 18.5 million profit in one year! Now with the new syndicate at City prepared to spend anything to get a player there will be many chairman rubbing their hands in glee at the prospect of making big money out of average players.

Liverpool must now change hands to DIC if we are to remain a top 4 club. The purchase of Man City will have serious impact on the Premier League come January. I think now is the time for the yanks to disappear along with (although I hate to say it) Rafa. There has been to many issues aired in the press over the last two years and it is time the club moved on

I'd like to express my delight at the signing of Dimitar Berbatov for man utd. Since I heard comparisons between him and King Eric, I hoped to see him in a red shirt this season. I would also like to wish Louis Saha good luck at Everton, and have total confidence on him being a huge hit. He is a fantastic player who was hit with unfotunate injuries, otherwise he would have been a man u great. Man U to win at least a double including the premiere league

As a big football fan i am disgusted by the potential new owners of manchester City who think they can bully every team in England and Europe saying they are just going to buy Torres,Ronaldo,Fabregas etc plus plenty of others including no doubt Chelsea players. As a lover of the game this is not acceptable behaviour and i ask all fans and teams to get together and make a big stand this will ruin our great game

It is confirmed that the ontourage of the two black Rolls Royce leaving the Emirates Stadium no longer than 17 minutes ago were infact representatives of Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed, who are interested in buying the club Arsenal for a staggerin £528.55m, this comes just two days after Manchester City were subject of takeover with Abu Dhabi United Group, However the Arsenal board may not be able to resist this amazing offer on the table, with Stan kreonke and Danny Fiszman the London diamond dealer willing to sell thier shares the only obstacle Sheikh Mohammed has to over come is Red & White Securities, which is co-owned by Russian billionaire Alisher Usmanov and London-based financier Farhad Moshiri who hold the largest single stake in the club held by a non-board member, Al jazeera news has stated that the Dubai ruler is really interested has the adequate funds and connections, it also stated that Sheikh Mohammed was more interested in taking over Arsenal Fc rather than Liverpool Fc due to the Location and venues as liverpool try and make a 60,000 seater, so its North London for Sheikh Mohammed not north England, I will keep you posted as I am flicking back and forth from Al Jazeera news to Sky sports news.

Will Fisk (Portsmouth fan) says...

I think this season's race for 4th place could be a very exciting one indeed. I think Arsenal as a squad look weak currently. There is a chance for clubs like City, Villa, Portsmouth, Spurs and even Everton can all look to break into that top 4. I was stunned when I saw the ongoings at City throughout the day. If Robinho comes and does what everybody knows he can along with SWP & Co. then I really can see Dr. Sulaiman's ambitions being fulfilled. If City are in and around that top 4 come January - you'd have to fancy them to get there. As I say there are other squads capable of breaking into the top 4. I still think Spurs' squad is very capable indeed and you shouldn't write them off. Villa's English contingent looks very promising and I have to say that Pompey holding on to both Diarra and Davis could prove pivotal in their drive for Europe via the league this season. As for Everton, they've every chance still - yes they've had a poor start but Goodison Park generally speaking is a fortress and the signings of Fellaini and Castillo should give them the depth in midfield that they desperately lacked in the first month of this season. What a season ahead!

I'd have to say that it's great times for Manchester City fans at the moment, signing Robinho from under Chelsea's noses on deadline day! He is a top quality player and he is only 25... Manchester United will be even stronger than last season with the addition of Berbatov... They won't even miss Ronaldo now, with Berbatov on board... As for Arsenal, it was irritating to hear Wenger say he is buying one or two players and then we end up with no signings... I'm getting fed up like most Arsenal fans of having to put up with finishing third or fourth, considering that we play the best football in Europe, yet have nothing to show for it... I hope that the players at Arsenal prove me wrong and win something this year and I don't mean the Carling Cup!

Gareth Williams (Tottenham Hotspur fan) says...

Nothing changes with Ferguson tapping up players, it has been well documented over the years with the Dutch amongst being put out by his actions. Ferguson has been trying to get Berbatov for over a year which has been well published with Berbatov & his agent making waves during this period. If Berbatov had not been given permission to speak to M.U. & there is TV evidence of him being picked up by Ferguson also taken for a medical. M.U. should have points deducted & banned from any incoming transfers for a period of 3 years as a fine would be meaning less due to their financial clout.

Liverpool all the way i think Albert Reira is a great signing for liverpool we currently did not have 1 good left footed croser i think this will be the season for liverpool with the current formation: Reina Degen Caragher Skrtel Dossena (RB) (CB) (CB) (LB) Mascherano (DM) Alonso (RM) Riera (LM) Gerrard (AM) Keane Torres (ST) (ST) Thats my verdict of the best liverpool team we could display this season! Good Luck Liverpool!!

Bryden Young (Manchester United fan) says...

this is amazing, every man utd fan have every right to be celebrating because of the transfer of the Bulgarian striker Dimatar Berbatov. I reckon he will make Manchester United a lot stronger , and he should make Man Utd a better team than they already are.

Manchester United have added another great player to a team full of unbelieveable talent...imagine the line up...Van der Sar, ferdinand, Vidic, scholes, carrick, giggs, nani, ronaldo, rooney,tevez,Berbatov...Champions 2007/08 and in 12 month will be champions 2008/09...Fergie is a legend, city might have the money now but they cant play the game like fergie and united.

Alex Wilshaw (Leeds United fan) says...

The only reason why Real let Robinho go to City is because they won't be in the Champions League this season or next and Real are secretly scared and know of Robinho's talent and would have fitted in well with Chelsea. This is great for City but not for the youngsters there. They have some very talented lads coming through and may not get a chance if big name players keep playing. This is why England is in the state it is in now. You wonder why Italy won the World Cup because there are many home grown players playing in the Serie A.

Charlie Montana (Arsenal fan) says...

Arsenal lost the title last year due to 1 thing, not having a in depth squad so what does wenger do gets rid of 3 GOOD players and brings in a couple of kids and a man u defender who wasent good enought for them. Year after year Chelsea and Man Utd spend millions on top class players who are at the prime of there careers and even Liverpool have started spending big. If wenger doesnt win anything BIG (carling cup and fa cup dont count) soon then i think Arsenal are gonna slip down to the UEFA CUP pack.

Jonas Soelberg (Manchester United fan) says...

There is no doubt that Berbatov is a massive signing, and theres no doubt that he'll make the Man Utd squad better but for £30mill? A goalscorer through and through, 46 goals in a little over a 100 matches for the Spurs says it all, but in my oppinion the Barbatov-hype reached a concerning high a couple of weeks ago? With two really exciting players like Manucho and Campbell lined up, and a supposed buy-back-fee in the Rossi contract Im saying that the monay could have been spent better.. But then again, its not my savings and sure to say that its not Sir Alex's either, so I'll just focus on staying happy with the harmonic and fully equipped Man Utd squad. The team spirit and good athmosphere is what is gonna win us the PL for the third time in a row, not a new big name signing, so lets not pin all of our hopes on Berbativ..! Good season to all U football fans out there!

Guy Garrard says...

Well, well. The mighty Sir Alex finally got his man then? Lauded by all, and congratulated on his masterclass by all (including Geoff Shreeves) in securing the services of Dimi Berbatov.... Apparently, the super shrewd Sir Alex had been "tracking" Berbatov for over two years. Hang on a little minute...thats just about the time that Tottenham paid Bayer Laverkusen all of £10.9M for the same player. And now Sir Alex pays nearly 3 times that price! Nice bit of business I'd say, and perhaps rather than lauding Ferguson so much, a few words for the Tottenham board might not go amiss?

Colin Rogers says...

Just to remind everyone touting Manchester City as the new kids on the bling block...QPR are far and away on paper the richest club in the footall league. When we get into the premier league the manchester clubs and our london neighbours will be eyeing our transfer enquiries with great interest. Money talks in football now and the succesful clubs will have lots of it.
