I'm 15, my idol was Gianfranco Zola, I idolised him and the Chelsea and my passion for football.

Seb Coe was an inspiration to me as a little lad, watching him come round the final bend took my breath away.

My hero has to be Mohammed Ali, Such a charismatic character in and out of the ring. Pure Ledgend was unstoppable at his prime there is not any one like him and no-one will ever achieve what he did. They way he pleased the crowd with his dancing and boxing style was incredible. Ali was infact the greatest!

Jamie Redknapp DID play along side John Barnes.
In fact they both scored on the final day of the 93/94 season to beat my beloved Blackburn Rovers yet we still won the league as Man Utd could only manage a draw at West Ham Utd

My all time idol would have to be Niall Quinn. He is like a god to all of us sunderland fans and he has done a tremendous job as chairman and when he played for us. In my mind he is a legend and is the greatest sportsman of all time!!

Tiger Woods. He is a role model to the young and old. I think the sign of a true sporting hero is when you don't here of them apart from what they do in their sport and Tiger Woods is the personification of that statement.

Uwe Fuchs - Striker who came to Boro on loan in the 94-95 season, Boro were struggling to complete promotion in Bryan Robsons first year as manager. Signed Fuchs and he scored 9 goals in 15 games and helped us to promotion. Without him I sincerly believe that Boro wouldnt have the history we now have, League cup winners, twice runner-up, f.a cup runner up and Uefa cup runner-up. What did he get as thanks? Nothing, Boro didn't take him up on the permanent deal that was attached to his loan move. GOD BLESS UWE!!

My Hero is Peter Schmeichal, what a goalkeeper, i remenber first seeing him play in Euro92 and he was just amazing, when he signed for united i was delighted, every season he guaranteed united at least 12 points, he had it all, agility, speed, bravery and he could organise a defence brilliantly, he was a genius

David beckham is my sporting hero because i have grown up with him in the news and the public eye. He is a great ambassador for football on and off the pitch and he deserves a knighthood sooner or later. G.W.F Hegel said "Nothing great in the world has ever been accomplished without passion." and I think this is exactly what David Beckham is like

My hero was Trevor Brooking, he was an inspiration both as a player and as a role model, I also beleive he was underrated, had he played for one of the big clubs he would probably be known as one of this country's greatest midfield players. An inteligent man, a great player and professional who conducted himself well on and off the field of play, a rareity these days!
