With all the hype around the top few picks, especially Darren McFadden, I think that there has been one pick that has been badly overlooked as a great move: The New Orleans Saints moving up for Sedrick Ellis and stealing him from under the noses of the Bengals. I believe that he is vastly underrated and is pobably as good as Glenn Dorsey and didn't get the exposure he should have got because USC didn't make the National Championship and also played in a weaker conference than the SEC. Ellis will be one of the key reasons for the Saints being NFC championship contenders once again. He will, in the same way Warren Sapp did so, clog up the line, neutralising running games and forcing teams to throw meaning that the defensive playmakers on the Saints defence will excel this season and look far more impressive this season. With the defence looking much better and the amazing offensive quartet that the Saints possess (Brees, Bush, Colston and McAllister), all fit again, look for them to have a great season in the inferior NFC (although the Giants are the champs, the AFC is far superior on the whole) and the even weaker NFC South. Sedrick Ellis will prove to be the best pick in the entire Draft asides from Glenn Dorsey.

I think the Redskins offence could explode next season with the options Campbell has to go to now and the Saints now they have addressed the defence and with Mcallister and Stecker 1-2 punch running game could allow Bush to get back to his best, the Vikings probably have the best defence in the NFL now and with the Cowboys and the champion Giants the NFC could overtake the AFC for excitement this year.

I feel sorry for Matt Ryan out of all the offensive lines to help keep you safe in the pocket the Atlanta Falcons must have the worst, He's a great talent but he's gotta prove he can hold his own in that team. The star man of the draft in my opinion will be Darren McFadden because he has the capability to score points for Oakland. But the with Dorsey and Albert goin to Kansas City they had the best Draft by a mile ! ! !

Come on Baltimore i think we had a great draft Flacco is a good QB and offers more competition for Boller and Smith to get the starting place.

Was great getting to watch the draft, well done Sky. As an Eagles fan I have to say I was surprised that we traded out of the first round for the second year in a row but I think it was a good move. At 19 there wasnt a lot of players who were standout at that point in the draft. Was surprised at the Raiders taking McFadden especially with Glenn Dorsey still around. They just paid Fargas and have Michael Bush coming back, I feel Al Davis has made a big mistake. McFadden is a great player but I dont see how this was a position of need for Oakland. I think the Falcons made the wrong choice in Ryan, I'm not sure whether he can be the franchise qb they seek, throws too many ints for my liking. As was said already, I wouldnt read too much into the draft. Great players like Romo, Antonio Gates, Kurt Warner and Rod Smith were all undrafted so there's still hopes for those who weren't picked.

After watchin the draft (great show) I cannot help feeling that the Cowboys have got what they wanted and not what others said they should go for i.e. Felix Jones who will offer a different style to Marion Barber and will make plays and a great plus in CB Mike Jenkins should be solid for the future. I think this draft will help them get to the next level in the play offs (Superbowl) this year and with the trades conducted on Sunday by Jerry a possible first round receiver next year "ow bout them cowboys" I can hear it again!

you gotta laugh Ryan is going to anilhated the falcons O-Line is terrible although they did draft Sam Baker 21st overall, the true winners of the draft were Kansas City dorsey, albert and flowers are all ready to start playing right away which is good for them because they need it, Henne will be better value for the Phins at QB behind Long than Ryan at ATL behind a rubbish O-Line and before i leave Go RAMS we had a good draft and got players for positions of need D-Line and WR,this season 8-8!!

Since the raiders picked Mcfadden they should trie to trade for a good wide reciever. they got a lot of running backs and CBs and picks next year, beacuse i think Mcfadden will open the passing lane up but the raiders dont good enough wide recievers to do anthing about it

Keep a watch for Andre Woodson, 6th round 198th pick for the Giants at Quarter Back. Apparently the next Tom Brady....

Don't look too much into the draft as it's very hard to tell how well these guys are going to be. I don't even think Tony Romo was drafted. Gives you and idea.

The falcons made the right choice for Ryan...... but i dont think he is a top ten quarterback. He is more like chad pennington or steve mcnair. The jets were unlucky not to get Mcfadden because i think he would have made a real impact and what was with that pick at 30 for the jets......we already have 2 tight ends.

Jake Beaton says...

I think Matt Ryan will undoubtedly be the star man from the draft, the Falcons have got the main man there and he can lead them from quarterback to challenge for the play-offs next season.
