Former England batsman Vikram Solanki has resigned as Worcestershire captain after more than five years in the job.Back to story
I think its time Rhodes steps down too, this county has been going downhill ever since Rhodes has been in charge. Thank you Vik for helping the team out and sticking around when everyone else was leaving, but i think Leatherdale should sack Rhodes and lets build again. So many supporteres have boycotted coming to New Road because of Rhodes, he was a great keeper, but is a very poor coach.

Good luck Vik! Not been an easy few years losing some great players while have plenty of financial problems. I wasn''t happy with the loss of many of those players although Steve Davies is probably the biggest long term loss. Some good youngsters coming through so hopefully in two to three years we''ll be competing again. Let''s hope the captaincy doesn''t hit Daryll''s batting form. I think a few on this forum need to locate CAPS LOCK.

I would like to congratulate Vikram on the way he has captained the side on a shoestring budget over the last few years. Losing top players wasn''t his fault and he has stayed loyal. Good luck to "Mitch" and the rest of the squad some of whom i know personally through coaching in the counties youth system. Perhaps with an ex Worcester player in "Luggsy" now at the helm and a home grown Captain along with some decent players coming through the Academy the future looks bright and to all the synics leave bumpy alone he'' got a job to do!!!

To be fair to him he could have gone last year, along with every other decent player we had like Batty, Pears, etc etc In any sport you can only play with what you have around you you and that I''m afraid is not a lot. A real shame we are just the whipping boys at the moment... Good luck to whoever is next...
