Hatton feels the difference fighting welterweights so fighting a man who has spent most of career since 2000 fighting north of the welterweight division can only end with Ricky being knocked out. Unifying light-welter and beating fighters such as Andreas Kotelnik, Junior Witter and Paulie Mailgnaggi will do nothing for his legacy as the division is very shallow at the moment and none of these fighters compare to Kostya or Floyd. I feel that after Lazcano, Hatton should fight Casamayor (who is struggling to make lightweight) or Pacquiao (if he is comfortable at lightweight and beats Diaz) before preparing for a Mayweather rematch with either Judah or Mosley . If he is successful against Floyd, then he should retire, if he loses he should seek a fight against Katsidis or Timothy Bradley to end his career on a high.

I watched the last fight between Hatton and Mayweather, and Mayweather has now defeated De La Hoya and Hatton. He should now go on and face Miguel Cotto if he truly wants to become the best pound-for-pound fighter of all time. I think Cotto-Mayweather would be a true classic, with Cotto winning by a split decision.
For a Mayweather-Hatton rematch. I still think that Mayweather would defeat him by KO in the late rounds and it would end Hattons' career. I believe Hatton should now go and unify the light-welterweight division, then face De La Hoya in a career ending fight for both fighters.
Only by unifying the light-welterweight decision will Hatton be considered a true legend. The path for Hatton should be as follows, as long as he defeats Juan Lazcano
1. Andreas Kotelnik (Hatton would destroy him, early KO)
2. Paulie Malignaggi (Hatton win on points)
3. Junior Witter (Hatton on points, and shut Witter up once and for all)
and then as long as he gets through those, then face De La Hoya in his final fight.

Why is everyone so negative about a hatton v floyd rematch? I follow boxing all year and I love seeing big fights. Who cares Ricky got beat last time, he gets another chance and I will be behind him all the way.
I think that Hatton has plenty of options, personally I would have a homecoming fight with somebody like Ricardo Torres then fight Malignaggi in America before a domestic battle with Witter. After that, by mid/end of 2009 he will be the undisputed light-welter king and I'd like to see him fight Floyd or even de la Hoya.

This is absolutely ridiculous. Both of them dont need this fight. The only reason why Mayweather wants to fight Hatton at Wembley is to make a whole load of money. We all know he is driven by that and the thought of 100,000 fans paying a whole load of cash, would set Mayweather up for life.
Even if this fight goes ahead, there will be one winner and thats Mayweather, even though i love watching the Hitman so much.
Hatton is better off Unifying the Light-Welterweight division. He can take 3 of the 4 major belts not that Gavin Rees lost last week. The only one that would be left would be the WBC belt and i dont think Hatton will fight Witter for that.
And to be honest Floyd should just fight Cotto, because Cotto will give him a run for his money.

I really don't think this fight will or should happen again. It may just be me being cynical but this all appears to be a publicity stunt in a bid to increase sales of Ricky's upcoming pay per view fight.
I don't see what these two fighting again will prove for either of them. Ricky was simply beaten by a better a fighter and there should be no shame in that. Even if it was at 140 at Wembley PBF would still win, he was better on the inside and better on the outside, maybe if it was a different referee the fight might go the distance, but then again if the ref lets ricky fight on the inside he might get knocked out quicker.
I think a lot of genuine boxing fans who follow the sport all year rather than just for Hatton fights are getting more than a little frustrated that the Witter fight does not seem to be in Ricky's radar at all, and if he fought PBF again prior to Witter I do not think the support he received in Vegas would be as fervent at Wembley.
At the end of the day, i think Hatton should have his home-coming fight, and then fight Witter in a huge domestic show down, and PBF can fight whoever he wants as long as he fights Cotto at some point.

Mayweather is a sensational fighter, and IF he, and this is a big IF, beats Oscar Delahoy, he will destroy Hatton again. On that measure I think Delahoy could win 4 fights out of 10, but he has to do it quickly. Their last match was very close with Mayweather getting a very close decision. Hatton was outclassed, out boxed and in my opinion not good enough. Mayweather will be an all time great, if he gets Oscar again, but Oscar can spoil the party.
