Its always a shame to see a good relationship soured if its for the wrong reasons, but only time will tell.
Also all the talk of the knockdown suffered against Limond makes me laugh. He was hanging his head out and he got caught. Even having a good chin wont help if you hang your head out to dry like that, be it against a light puncher or not.
Better that he learned such a valuable lesson when he did.

I think this is a really bad move on Amir Khans part. what i don't understand is how it could have been so difficult to contact harrison. they obviously wanted to let him go or they could have got in touch with him. it sounds as though harrison got offended when amir suggested doing some training in the states and that harrison may be taking more of a back seat. now harrison and amir are going to be lost without their special friendship and bond and i agree these trainers from the states are all about money and can't be trusted as far as you could throw them. they don't care about amir khan and he knows it, they're just after his money. they've made a big mistake getting rid of harrison and i feel sorry for him getting dumped like that.

O Harrison was Amir Khan's trainer not his wife. He can give him up anytime he wants, if he thinks he can be a better boxer with another trainer. All sports are about winning and money. Its a way of earning/its a job. Khan must have trained hard to better his speed etc and motivated himself to be where he is now. Oliver Harrison must have other boxers that he trains but that doesnt mean they are amir!. Its like saying Alex Furgie tought C Ronaldo what a football is and how to play with it.

Regarding Khan, better to make the change now than after he loses the big fights. he has a chance to be great, is still too soon to be sure.

If Oliver Harrison is the wrong trainer now then he was the wrong trainer from the beginning and the relevant people should look at the decision to use him. Your formative years as a pro are the most important ones and where you either learn good or bad habits. I'm not convinced a change of trainer will really correct any of Amir's faults which are a somewhat stiff upper body, a tendency to hang his chin out and a limited defensive repertoire.

Amir has made a big mistake. oliver harrison was a superb trainer and because of him amir khan won all of his 17 fights. he was also a good motivator. now amir khan has sacked him he thinks he can jump in with the big boys who i personally wouldnt trust.
he is still a young kid and is far too apprehensive abt winning a world title. i think he is rushing into things and will end up in a disaster like prince naseem.
good luck to the kid and i hope hes not as daft as hes made himself out to be

Why is it that now hes catapulted into a world wide name that he has decided to drop his trainer. harrison is an excellant trainer and deserves to be with him all the way throughout his career.
Theres nothing more he can learn from somebody else. Obvious really as harrison has got him where he is today.Money talks ......................................... See you all in Cardiff to watch a real professional ......

Oliver Harrison is a good trainer, loyal and committed, but i think its good that Amir has moved on, he needs to develop further if he is to become a world champion, let alone make the P4P top 10. He has power, speed and skill, his chin isn't great but it isn't bad, he can take a punch but he needs to fight a proven KO fighter, he needs to work on his defence so that he doesn't get hit in the first place. His performance against Kristjensen was great and I feel that he can take the lightweight division by storm, its wide open now with fighters like Freitas and Castillo out of the picture, Casamayour is over-rated in my opinion too. The untimely death of Diego Corralles (RIP) has also meant that Khan can really make a big impact at lightweight - I would have really loved to see Corralles and Khan fight though!!!

I think this is fantastic news. Whilst Amir has been winning his fights-defensively i dont think he is progressing as well as he could. There is no doubt he has the raw materials to have a fantastic career and mixing it with the big boys in the states, taking him out his comfort zone, sparing with quality fighters i think is the best thing he could have done. To me it shows his ambition and the sacrifices he is prepared to make. For me if Amir has the ability to take a shot (chin has seemed a little shaky) he could go on to be p4p the best fighter in the world in the next 5 years.

i dont think khan cant take a punch. willi limond a light puncher was on the verge on knocking him out. wait till he comes up against a banger, he will be flat out within 6 rounds. right now he is being protected like an asset to make as much money from as possible. once his lights are out the asset will be history.

Personally i think its history repeating itself, amir khan can now get the big fights so he splits with his trainer who's saw him through the bad times of getting him to where he is now ,hes won all his fights so far now he has a shot a fighting in vegas or wherever the money men want to take him the humble oliver harrison gets pushed out the same happened to prince nassem as soon as he got too big for his boots he sacked his long term trainer brendon ingle and wot happend hamed lost most of his fights, its a case of all thes fighters see now is not the reconition of being the best fighter in the world but how much money they can make in the meantime as evryone knows its the same in all sports and im sorry to say its a sad state of affairs.

Personally - i'm bored watching Amir fight these no-hopers. When will Frank Warren get him in the ring with a proven KO fighter. Of course boxing is all about the money, but Amir has had enough warm-up fights now - get a big fighter on his bill. I doubt he will last more than 5 rounds!!!

It might be a good idea for Amir to have 2 Trainers. Keep Oliver for training in England but have a Specialist /senior trainer when he sets up camp before big fights because experience and knowledge is what Oliver probably lacks but this could be gained by Oliver if he works with a more experienced trainer. A big name trainer may not always be available but with Oliver at least he would be loyal.

Are u guys having a laugh? Do ur research adn ull come to know harrison IS a good trainer. Yes Khan is his first major fighter but u have to start from somewhere.
His techniques, his style. his performance and dedication COULD have made khan a world champion.
Roger mayweather or freddy roach taking on khan??!! YEH RIGHT!
they won't take khan on TILL he is a wolrd champion, until then no1 is even interested. Come on guys lets get 2 reality. Khan has beaten BUMS apart from earl and krtsjansen.
Why you think he is avoiding Romanov, KAtsdidis and thaxton, cus he nos hell get whupped. So does warren and so he aint making the fights so he can keep making money.
Khan needs to win something, do something and beat sum real fighters before any of the legendary trainers listed will even THINK of taking him on.
Like a few boxers who have amde the same mistake, khan will regret this decision, the fame and fortune is getting 2 him and i think hell go out jus like Naz!
Peace x

Similar to Naz those close to Khan no very little about boxing . Harrison is a good honest pro trainer and unlike the mercenary yanks - trash talking R Mayweather??? - mentioned as possibles he probably has genuine regard for Khan. Lightweight division not as good as it was a few years ago however so might not make a difference for title win. Next move from Khan clan is surely out goes Frank Warren in Golden Boy.

I thought this kid was different. A breath of fresh air. I had become tired of the 'brash' boxers. Predicting what they are gonna do, how good they are etc. When he first arrived on the scene that was the attraction for me, his humility. How it has changed. Both he and his entourage have become exactly the same as the rest. Why all the people in the ring at the end of the fight. His Dad parading around as if he is Angelo Dundee. Now, leaving his trainer to go to a higher level. Soon, out will pop some Mexican from nowhere, no hype and bang. Seeya Amir
