Hilarious Khan only wanted a pop at Gavin Rees when there was a title and alot of money on the table, He realises he would have not lived with the body shots from Rees and his all action style, I saw gomez destroy Arthur and fully expect to give Khan a fight, however Khan sying he wont fight domestically again is a joke he is running scared of a showdown with the Rock, Khan is no Prince Naseem and the sooner he realises that the better

what everyone seems to be forgetting is that alex arthur was ill and still fought on the nite that was a major factor. Saying that though what a fight it was but just look at how the careers of both fighters have gone since then Gomez wasnt even on the radar until now!! i worry for khan when he finally does come up against a world class opponent but with his questionable chin this fight may be a tough one but i very much doubt it somehow. Dont do a hatton and fight nobodys fight the best!!!

Sam Donovan says...

Khan has escaped fighting who he should've in Gavin Rees. this would have been a much better test for him as rees can box where as gomez has been in too many wars and is very easy to hit.

i would like to say one thing amir wont lose his next fight because wether any one likes him or not the lad is pure class you cant really hit him becasue of his greater hand speed bacause in todays sport hand speed wins you matches ok he might not have the chin but the power is there and as many of his other oponents have realised the minuite they have stepped in to the ring the same will happen with gomez

BORING!! Not being funny but its about time Khan had a decent opponant. This will be another few minutes excerise for him, probly wont last a round again. I've watched every single Khan fight and there has only been about 3 that have looked like Khan was in a fight, the rest have been far to easy. Lets face it, Khan is good enough, he proved it, so stop giving him ''warm up fights to get him ready'' and just give him his title shot...he's ready!

Much as I like Gomez and all the entertainment he has bought to the game. He is just being used to make Khan look good. It will not go past 4 rounds, once Khan starts getting through Gomez will not be able to avoid the punches, i just hope he is not too brave and the referee is a strong character.

Fair play to Khan and Frank Warren. There are dozens of easier fights for Khan to take and keep moving on up. Gomez is a nightmare to fight, just ask Alex Arthur. I expect a Khan victory but it would not be a total shock if Gomez sat Khan on his backside. Gomez is all heart and if catches Khan, could be all over. If Khan gets drawn into a brawl, this is a 50/50 fight. If he boxes Gomez, comfortable points win or very late stoppage.

i remember watchin gomez beating alex aerthur and for me has to e 1 of my all time favourite fights he destroyed arthur that night and will do the same again to khan who is to big for is boots, come on mike send him packing son, i see a stoppage early with cuts to khans face, this little fella gomez can go you u know and amir will find the powere to much.

how can Warren say that Thaxton is not good enough to get in the ring with Khan then expect us to belive that a washed up superfeatherweight is? Thaxton may have lost his last fight but he lost to the european champion where as Gomez couldnt even win the Irish title . i hope khan loses and looks bad doing so

Inside info get a bet on gomez stoppage over khan. Don't say i didn't warn you

Dominic Gordon says...

Frank Warren iis toosmart to risk Amir against someone like Romanov. When Khan Does risk his Undefeated record it will be against a recognised world champion (Most likely Nate Campbell). I Thought the way Harrison was treated was a bit naughty but that is boxing and i think Amir was badly advised by his people. Khan will beat Gomez then fight Campbell. Pacman will beat diaz for the other version and there is no way warren would risk Khan against him.

Lewis Mcfarlane says...

This is perfectly set up for Gomez. It's going to be the Alex Arthur story all over again - except that Khan has a lot further to fall than Arthur, and he might find it harder to pick himself up. Gomez lives for this stuff.

Joel Hughes says...

The only thing I can surmise from Amir taking on Micheal is that it is a tune up fight for a world title shot before the end of the year. However with a new trainer he should surely be looking to make a statement and fighting someone who has a chin and is going to be testing his chin. Gomez might have beaten Arthur at super feather, but he has never been consistent enough to rise above the British Scene. Can someone please tell me why he is not fighting Romanov? After Yuri beat Thaxton it was surely the obvious next fight for Khan!

Nick Courbet says...

Although I'm cheering on for the Ricky Hatton for his next fight, there is no way he should be fighting Mayweather again. The only fight that actually means something would be Cotto-Mayweather and everyone knows that apart from disillusioned Hatton fans. The only way Hatton should have a crack at Mayweather is to step up and challenge Cotto, which there is no way on earth he will do, for the simple reason, he cannot win against Cotto and he knows it.

Matt Wadman says...

Another fight against a smaller opponent who has never had real success on a world scale. If Khan doesn't start to take on a better standard of fighter soon, he will be in for a shock when the world title shot comes.

Stuart Trewin says...

There is no way gomez can win this fight and amirs people know this, they are just padding out his record, gomez is to small and well past his best.......

James Cunningham says...

Gomez has lost 3 of his last 6 haha amir come off it start fighting real opponents. We are hearing you mouth off too much about your going to become world champion by the end of the year. This time next year youll still be fighting bums like gomez. World champion? Im still to be convinced like alot of other boxing fans.

Paul Oltai says...

what makes me laugh is they keep putting former this weight and former that weight in with him and they are always alot smaller than amir.i do like amir as a fighter but dont agree with some of his opponents.
