Well another dream bites the dust.Khan was destroyed by the better man.Every body he has met up until saturday have all been powderpuff punchers.Limond put him down and look at his knockout record.Gomez also put khan down and he was past it.Prescott looked like a mini tommy hearns with a dig.Khan was like hamed in disguise,i cant see how he can come back from a beating like that.Terry connor should have stopped the fight after the 1st knockdown game over world champion having a laugh.Khan and family better sit down and have a day off

i know everybody is entitled to there own oppinion, but come on guys. he is english, should get behind him! if he was mexican or something the whole country would be behind him. we have very few top quality stars, i still believe khan will become one of those!! of course he is going to hype himself up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! do you know a sportsman that doesnt? he needs to have self belief to emit his confidence to his fans to give them belief he can win.

Anybody who saw his interview on sky sports at his gym the day after the fight would accept that for a 21 year old he has alot of heart, bottle and desire to succed. At the end of the day he failed in the fight on saturday, he knows that, everyone knows that, the test is how he can come back from it, not for the sake of those who doubt him but more importantly to prove it to himself. At the end of the day he is practically a baby at 21 the people here having a go at him should look at themselves in the mirror and ask themselves what they had achieved at 21??

Although still young it can only be a backward step for Amir. When he takes care of the next five journeymen, he will have to step up and fight the top boys again. The mental scars of that knockdown will always be there and one thing you can't train is to get a stronger chin. No doubt the media will have a great time watching the fall of this young man. England football team should be relieved the media had focus elsewhere.

Watching Khan on Saturday brought back memories of the young Frank Bruno. Frank had all his fights hand picked and was heralded as the new up and coming fighter who would become world champion. Unfortunately every time he was put up against a real quality fighter he bit the dust. Poor Frank could never take a punch and neither can Khan. Sorry but this is the end for Amir.

What is all this nonsense about Khan picking the "wrong" fighter. This is someone on the BRINK of a world title shot, so we were led to believe, fighting a columbian we had never heard of, and who had beaten no-one of any ability. Now we're led to believe he fought someone "too good" well hold on just a minute, shouldn't world champiions be the best in the world, rather than having hand picked opponents and fighting for belts against champions in their prime. I thought the comments pathetic. Amir Khan got found out. Simple as that.

Reading most of the comments on this page - It's clear that most of you have never boxed - ABA or pro, Khan has to think he can beat anyone if he did'nt he would not step into the ring (which is more most of you could do) All fighters lose at some point - what makes a great fighter is how they respond to it!!! take Nas after his down fall!! where was he - not back in the ring!! Khan will be back and will improve his style - his defence will get better and he will not get caught so easy, and yes one day he will be a world champ..

The truth is clear for all to see, Khan was not as good as prescott on the day. He is only in his early twenties and has a lot of time to bounce back. He has a lot to learn in the sport and hopefully he will learn lot from the defeat. It will be interesting to see who he fights next, but I guess thats up to Frank Warren. I hope he dosen't wrap him in cotton for a few fights giving him nobodies to fight!

The brutality of the KO will scar khan for the rest of his career - the first KD he went over like he was dead - unconcious before he hit the deck - he got up pretty quickly , but when a fighter goes down as hard as that its a bad sign - it want the impact of the left hook knocking him down - he was literally knocked unconcious for a few seconds - its a blessing that it only lasted 54 seconds because a sutained beating over 3 or 4 rounds would have damaged him permanently - young as he his he wont be able to take many more KO's like taht one - and its coming the best LW's in the world hit as hard but have more skill than prerscott - and moving up in weight the top guys hit really hard - if a shot gomez can hurt him what would a cotto or a margarito do to him ? they would finish him as a fighter and at 5' 10 he will be a natural welter when he fills out a bit - and thats what he faces down the road - just look at meldrick taylor

I disagree with some of the comments made here, I think Khan didn't give it mouth as much as other boxers. He's no way as bad as prince nas was but he has been hyped up way too much, how much of that is frank warren's doing i have no idea. The fact is that Khan is an average fighter, he's fought plenty of has beens and fighters that have no future to make him look impressive the first half decent fighter he fought I believe would've won if the fight hadn't been stopped early. Sorry i'm not sure what the guys name was but the Irish boxer was chopping khan and khan had lost all his punching power so I had an incling that he might lose this but I had no idea it would be in such a dramatic fashion. Lets see how much fight he has in him and if he can come back from this, not every fighter is a Calzaghe and can remain undefeated...you can't win em all.

Amir Khan will bounce back but the signs that this was coming have been there for a long time. The knockdowns in his previous fights against very average fighters said a lot. He has been found out at the top level. The fact remains however hard and fast he can punch without a defence or a chin capable of taking solid shots top fighters will continue to beat him. Im very pleased he came out and spoke with honesty regards his mistakes which most fighters would have hidden away and not admitted them. I hope he comes back and that his management do not put him in with top class fighters too early again

i think he can come back from this he has got all the talent to get him where he wants to. Just because his lost one fight every1 is writing him off. Y cant every1 just see he made a mistake. He should not have run straiht in and should have waited. Anyways he will be back and he will have learnt from his mistakes. He is a british boxer and we should all be behing him. Come on Amir Khan you can do it!!!!!

I was telling people all along that khan thinks he is Prince Nas. That is what he sees in the mirror and he is a taller guy with probably equal handspeed and he thinks its his God given right to win a world title. He was already talking about a hatton fight before he even stepped into the ring against prescott. At the weigh in he said the most stupid thing ever I looked bigger than him and stronger ha ha he obviously never heard of a guy called Mike Tyson he wasnt the tallest guy but he had explosives attached to both hands. To sum it all up he looked like bamby on ice. An now he might humble himself a bit more and stop carrying on like he is it when he is not. He does however have time to put himself right no fighters career is over at 21 but it will be hard to come back after a demoralising loss like that. I guess the only true prospect we have from britain now is Haye and he better live up to his hype!

one thing which realy annoys me is that most of the people leaving bad and negative comments about khan are the same people who were bigging him up. he is a very talented boxer and yes he did make the wrond decision picking a boxer like that and maybe picked some1 with some defeats but it doesnt matter which boxer was standing infront of that thunderous shot, they would hav never got back up. why isit that when ever a boxer loses everyone starts slagging them off. thats his 1st loss in 18 and every top boxer out ther has lost. every top boxer out there goes thru fights like that in the start of there careers even if ther easy or hard. legends like hopkins and dela hoya have lost 4-5 them selvs. its about how well khan comes back from this defeat and i think he will come back stronger than ever as u can see hes back in the gym already and hes determined to get to that world champion status.give him maybe 5-6 fights and he'l do it in my opinion.

Couldn't happen to a nicer bloke, ha ha. I've seen this coming a long time, he's only ever got in the ring with nobodies or has beens

Lets get the point right here, this Prescott is very very average, he wont be no world beater, just because he caught a silly Khan cold, he's just a slugger, i know what will happen with him as well, like i said when Kiko Martinez destroyed Bernard Dunne, a boxer like Rendall Munroe will come along and box his ears off, i reckan Joe Murray could do it, easily

Khan deserved everything he got pity it wasn't more. since entering the sport he has fought no one so the moment he stands up against anyone he gets flattened he is to much mouth and nothing to back it up with don't get me wrong he has a raw talent but that is all. He talked about stepping up a further level to fight Ricky Hatton hahahaha.

Chris Dowson says...

I think this might be just what Khan needs, I think he thought he would cruise to a world title just because he has fast hand speed and can hit hard, but to be world champion it takes the all round game - after all, the art of boxing is hitting but avoiding getting hit at the same time. I'm sure he'll work hard and evaluate where he needs to improve and I think that he can still win a world title, but he needs to rethink his tactics and maybe protect his brittle jaw!!

Darren White says...

The biggest shock for me was a seemingly straight forward jab rocking him and almost buckling his legs. The Colombian was strong and we knew he could bang. Khan's knockdowns in the past have all been flash knockdowns, he wasn't really hurt, but huge questions remained over his chin. They were answered on Saturday. It's annoying how Warren was disgusted with the choice of opponent after the defeat as he knows he could have continually matched Khan with weaker opponents and kept the money spinner going. Prescott is not the best out there so of course Khan should be fighting the likes of him instread of deceiving the public by avoiding fighters. I like Khan, he has fantastic skills and if he had McCullough's chin he would be sensational, but he doesn't. His attitude is top notch and he is young and could still become world champion, but from here on in people will always mention his chin. He will come back and win and people will say; 'Yeah but he wasn't in with a big puncher'. This is a huge loss for British boxing. It's disappointing.

Jimmy Paddy says...

I hate to see any boxer go down like that. Khan will learn from this. I think it's the first time he's fought someone who is taller, so Khan should have stood back and boxed. He would not have had the reach advantage he usually has, which is a stength of his, next time he won't rush into the opponent like he did Saturday. He will be a lot more careful in his next fight, but let's hope his confidence will still be there.
