Paul Edwards (Liverpool fan) says...

The Cantona volley was into an empty net as James flapped at a corner just prior to the goal, so that was hardly spectacular. Stevie G's goal against West Ham was not only amazing it was unexpected just as you think it was all over - it wasn't. Thats what sets the best from the rest. Not the fact that Man U beat Lpool and Cantona scored.. theres more to it than that!!

Mike Davies (Fisher Athletic fan) says...

Great that the Cantona goal isn't in there - a speculative strike that somehow managed to avoid a number of players on its way into the net. Gerrard's should have been number 1 - a finer goal you will not see. Come on the Chels!

Gerald Martin (Liverpool fan) says...

Steven Gerrards against West ham, is definetly the best goal in an FA cup final. Simply because it was virtually the last kick of extra time and he was tired, but steven gerrard being who he is had enough energy to score a screamer past hislop.

Anam Ahmed (Arsenal fan) says...

What about Ljungberg's goal v Chelsea in 2002? He ran from the halfway line, past three players and then curled it beautifully into the top corner!

Dave Jones (Cheltenham Town fan) says...

That Cantona effort, while sweetly struck, was a very average goal. It had no power and 3 Liverpool defenders just watched it glide past them when any sort of effort could have stopped it. Man Utd fans claiming the Cantona goal should be in there and a Liverpool fan thinking that Gerrard's goal is the best final goal. Could not have made that up could you! Talk about bias blinding your judgement, Villa's goal quite simply the best.

Mad Gooner (Arsenal fan) says...

1979 - Alan Sunderland Vs Man Utd. Having scored twice in 3minutes & thinking that they were going to extra-time, The seconds counting down, Arsenal re-started the game. The ball to Brady who went on a mazy little run down the middle, slipped out wide to Rix, The cross leaving Gary Bailey in no mans land & there was Alan Sunderland sliding in at the back post, Arsenal 3 Man U 2!!!! Probably one of the best finishes to a Cup Final Ever!

Trevor Rundell (Manchester United fan) says...

How can Eric Cantona's goal against Liverpool seriously not be accounted for. Surely it must be in the top 3 !?.. It Was A BEAUTY Of A Hit !!

Nick Wensley (Liverpool fan) says...

Surely Michael Owen's perfectly taken second goal in the 2001 final against Arsenal should be here. It helped Liverpool complete the treble...

Hampo 69 (Bolton Wanderers fan) says...

I can't believe Nat Lofthouses' goal in the 1958 Final against Man Utd wasn't included. Know what I'm talking about Harry???. An era when football was played by men, not waxed-chested pufters.

Sarah Bradley (Liverpool fan) says...

Steven Gerrard's goal should have been 1st definately !! No doubt about it....the distance, power and the technique was second to none !!

Mike Williams (Liverpool fan) says...

I know I'm going to be accused of biased or bitter, probably both, but there is no way Cantona's goal in 1996 deserves to be in the top ten. I mean, if we hadn't been relying on John Scales et al for defenders that weak volley would never have gone in! Cantona was a great player, there's no doubt about that, but that goal is never in the top ten! Take your rose tinted glasses off. However, Owen's second goal in the 2001 FA cup final probably deserves a mention.

Marf F (Liverpool fan) says...

Cantona's in 96 was a good goal, a pressure strike if you like, with the defenders closing down etc but in no way is it in the class of some other goals in the final, Gerrards in 2006 has to be the best of the last 20 years anyway.

Dave F (Manchester United fan) says...

Eric Cantona goal against Liverpool in the FA Cup final on the edge of the circle of the box from a corner was a great goal. I recall him hitting the ball sweetly pass a dozen players into the goal

Sushant Kshirsagar (Manchester United fan) says...

Where is Eric 'The King' Canona's volley

Liam Riches (Liverpool fan) says...

I think gerrards is the best goal

Barry Pierce (Manchester United fan) says...

i cant believe in a top 10 list of the greatest fa cup final goals that eric cantonas decider against liverpool in the 1996 final didnt even make the cut. In my opinion it is the greatest goal scored in final and the fact that it was against our bitter rivals made it that bit more special.
