Stevo wonders why we ever doubt Leeds as they head into another Grand Final - this time with Warrington.Back to story
Michael, Leeds seem to have thoroughly sussed out how to win the Grand Final. Mind you, I remember a day in (was it 1963?) at Odsal when they hadn't quite got it right, and the team who finished in 8th place in the League ladder (and who. incidentally, had stopped Warrington from reaching the final in the preceding game with some ubelievable defending) gave them a bit of a lesson about team spirit! Although I guess the guy wearing a #9 on his shirt that day may have more vivid recollections of that occasion. But all credit to Leeds for another solid, measured and committed performance, and especially to Kevin Sinfield, whose always unassuming, post-match comments, deflecting praise to others, remind us, in these days of over-paid, over-hyped, over-egoed "superstars", what the term "sportsman" really means!
