Glenn McCrory assesses the dramatic slide in the fortunes of American heavyweight boxing.Back to story
Hi Glenn, good article. Watched all the fights over the weekend, however whilst I agree that Alvarez looked good, he looked good against a much smaller fighter. Until he fights someone his own weight who is also young and hungry or a proven world class fighter, the jury is still out in my opinion. Would love to see Alvarez/Golovkin at maybe 156/158, or Alvarez/Cotto at 154. Re Khan, strange move as as you say Pacquiao won't be around forever and Chavez Jr isn't a top class fighter imo. If he can shore up his defence with Hill, fair play and good luck to him but I still feel whoever he has training him, his chin will ultimately catch up with him again, especially if he goes up to 147.
