Harry Wassell (Sheffield Wednesday fan) says...

"If you want to shut up shop then our back five - and the midfielders in front of them - are excellent in that department." Agree with most of your opinions, but we should've shut up shop before conceeding the goal, not after.

Daniel Robinson (Manchester United fan) says...

Ashley Young needed help from the midfield, because Parker and Gerrard were so deep Diarra only had young to contain, support from Gerrard would have seen more space for Young. But a good result for England.

Brilliant article, especially the 'Merson's mark' part. Pundits and fans alike these days need to stop berating the likes of Greece and now England from playing to their strengths. I see pundits and fans berating the way Greece play all too often. Well if England are to experience success at this tournament, they, like Greece, will have to play to their strengths in an attempt to win their first ever euros, as the Greeks did in 04.

Richard Paul (Southampton fan) says...

I think Merse is spot on here! we did play well and used the right tactics to keep the French from flowing. I share the same thoughts for the Sweden game also. Walcott will be a big help in using pace in attack to break the Swedes down. And yes to another start from Chamberlain! not seen a great individual with such skill playing a great team game like that for years. Im sure weve got the tools to get to Quarter Finals indeed.
