whilst I understand the reasoning behind all the choices, I have to disagree with a few things. 1. Angel Rangel is by far the best right-back outside the Premier League. I think the likes of Noughton (Sheff U), Foley (Wolves) have had great seasons, but neither has the attacking power of the energetic Catalan. 2. Roger Johnson is the best centre-back in the Championship. This is coming from somebody who despises Cardiff. He's better than both Killgallon and St. Ledger (Even though Killgallon deserves his place, a solid defender). 3. Lee Carsley has not been anywhere near his Everton best this season. i think it has something to do with the fact that he plays in a birmingham team that ignores midfield, playing long-ball after long-ball from defence to attack. Jordi Gomez has been a class appart this season. he oozes class and should be in the team.

Matt Kilgallon deserves to be there, we've done really well as a team and hopefully we can go up! This is our season, bring on Wembley and up the baldes!

Im stunned Aron Gunnarsson is not in the midfield! Shocking!!! Hes been by far the best midfielder in the championship which has seen him linked with moves to liverpool and celtic?? Unbelievable!!!!

Beags i agree with most of your choices, but, i have also have to say Maik Taylor is the odd one out! He struggles with back passes and can't kick a football! there are 3 far more better all round goalkeepers than him - I have to say the 2 Sheffield clubs have very good, young, reliable 'keepers - Paddy Kenny and Lee Grant....and i would also say Andy Lonergan at Preston has been very consistant. You've picked a good team with a Goalie that can't use his feet, is not very mobile and struggles with crosses...come on Beags!

Excellent to see 2 clarets in team, if sylvan was not so good i'd be saying get Martin Patterson in there too. Bring on Wembley

Maik Taylor??? Sorry Peter but you're having a bubble if you think he's the best keeper in the CCC! I agree with all your other selections but I honestly believe that Taylor is old, inconsistent, he can't kick, flaps and is generally an awful goalie. Look no further than Birmingham V Norwich at St. Andrew's to see how bad Taylor really is. The best keeper by far is Julian Speroni or possibly even Bryan Jensen could give him a run for his money.

Sorry but I fail to see how you can name a Championship team of the year without Tommy Smith. He scored 17 goals from midfield in a struggling team, coupled with 9 assists and SECOND PLACE in the overall Actim stats index for the season, making him statistically the top midfielder in the division. He has also just become only the 3rd player in history to retain the Player of the Season award at Watford. Ridiculous oversight in my opinion - as good a prospect as Kightly may be, he is not a patch on our Tommy.

I think that the team is about right as he could have picked all the players from the top six but looked at each position realy well i'm glad to see our two in there and if it wern't for Taylor and Carsley we would not have gone up. Heres to the premier league team of the year :)
