Carrick over Huddlestone any day of the week. England played better in the second half when Milner was moved from the centre to the left as he cannot play a central role. Mexico got back ontop after Carrick went off and Huddlestone came on. I think Huddlestone had about 3 touches, he is too lazy and not good enough to play international football.

2006 proved that you have to take 5 strikers, but if it must be 4 then surely Heskey should be dropped? James Milner has proved himself to be a decent full back so I think only 7 defenders are needed. Where is the fight in midfield? Who do you pick to man-mark Messi in an England/Argie World Cup Final? Carrick and Huddlestone should be dropped and Scott Parker should be on the plane.

Everyone knows that Rooney is our biggest threat, yet last night he looked frustrated and why? because he didn't get a kick. It is clear that we must play 5 in midfield; Gerrard on the left (to link with Rooney), Walcott on the right (to free him of much of his defensive duties), and Milner, Lampard and Barry (if fit) in the middle - the players play at club level with 5 in midfield and last season proved that Rooney is a bigger threat playing up top on his own. We are not strong enough to play 4 in midfield and will get exposed by teams who can keep the ball - the game against Japan should be with the first choice 11 and in the formation we intend to play with against the USA - Capello must use these games wisely, to get confidence in the team, not to experiment with verge players who are simply not good enough - Please listen Capello!!!

i have to agree with the report in a way but england play japan sunday i think bent, wright phillips, warnock, carrick, parker barry(injured) and dawson because england have 2 many defenders at their disposal i think england will go out of the world cup at the semi finals final 4 england spain brazil argentina

I don't think you can go to the world cup with terry, ferdinand and king as your three main centre halves. With ferdinand and king's injuries you need one other and that should be michael dawson, this leaves a midfielder to be left out and it will be either joe cole or adam johnson

Emile Heskey Matthew Upson Michael Carrick Michael Dawson Scott Parker Theo Walcott Stephen Warnock

Not sure why you say Goalkeeper is a position still up for grabs. It's pretty obvious that Green is first choice

If Dawson does not go to the WC, the "I pick on form not reputation" quote will have been proved to be a lie
