Naked of ambition

The lack of results at Preston is one problem, but it's the lack of a plan that annoys Stephen Bradshaw right now.

By plan ...would you say something along the lines of Maurice Lindsey coming out and publically saying that we¿re going to have a 3 year plan to get into the premiership?

Richard Mulholland (Preston North End fan) says...

It's easy to be negative about our current plight but the truth of the matter is that without the intervention of Trevor Hemmings there would be no club for you to support. He has bank rolled the club through its championship tenure and continues to do so. The historic financial accounts (which are on public record) show a club that was spending way beyond its means and having to rely on selling a star player every year - a risky policy which was always bound to fail at some point. The new chairman has stated that there is a 3 year plan in place with the ulimate aim of reaching the premiership. The club needs stabilising and then slowly building back up. We all want to see progress on the playing field but the initial priority had to be financial stability. Until recently Preston fans had been used to seeing the team challenge for a playoff place most seaons but now we are facing a tough period where the loyalty and patience of many fans will be tested. Now is not the time to be fickle and turn our backs on the club or take our support elsewhere. I am certain that Mr Hemmings will want to see a return on his investement as he is a shrewd business and the only way to achieve that is through gaining a place in the premiership. I'm sure he is on a steep learning curve just like the current incumbent in the managerial hot seat but hopefully we will get through the difficult season ahead and be stronger for it. Hopefully the fans that support the club through this period of adversity will have the broadest smiles in 3 or 4 years time.
